Back from the vet - question

How do dogs get ear mites? Nobody at the clinic could tell me how to prevent it or how they got it.

The recep said that Simba has them, gave me some drops and told me that since I have other dogs at home then they all have ear mites. Funny since I had 2, we have 4 dogs total, in on Wednesday (she wasn't working Wednesday) and nobody told me those 2 had ear mites. I read online that it's contagious so I'll treat all 4 just in case.

It just bugs me that I had the 3 males in for neuters and by the time they were done my bill was over $600. That's like an Annual Pass and a couple meals at Disney!

Wow $600 for 3 neuters? For the neuter on my big guy (Great Dane) it was only $82.

I called my best friend who works at the vet and she said it is ear to ear contact from other animals...so they could have picked it up at the vets or from the neighbors dog etc
