Morning all, got back last night from my first solo trip ...

Highs

Many highs, i love the Christmas atmosphere as i have to agree with those saying this year it seems having a little bit of a low profile ....decorations are lovely, the lighitng of the Christmas tree is just amazing and i love Dreams of Christmas.
Queues pretty short, i have been on Space Mountain many times and always it was a 5 mins queue, same on Indiana Jones, POTC, It's a small world was 20 mins or less, Casey 5 mins, the longest Ratatouille - but if you can use the single riders queue it was an acceptable 20 mins - and Crush where it's useless to use the single riders queue as it takes longer than the *normal* one...
Weather wise it was cold and raining at times but never *too cold* or *too much rainy* if it makes sense.

Lows
Pretty disappointed with the Hotel Cheyenne, i found a bargain on the DLP french website and got a 50% discount but the Hotel itself is out of date and pretty dirty (i even found a chicken bone on the floor close to the exit door one morning), the bathroom was missing a few tiles and the corners were pretty black, plus it's unacceptable in 2016 that you provide a wired internet connection in the bedrooms but not a wifi one as i think it's more likely that people have mobiles or tablets than a laptop..

Anyway i had a great time and have enjoyed my solo trip so i think i will do it again... it's nice to have the power to decide what you want to do and when .. it makes a change in everyday life lol

Glad you had a good trip.

I was at the cheyenne from sunday to tuesday. It depressed the hell out of me. What didnt help was i stayed at newport bay a month before. Beautiful hotel.

Glad you did a small world. Everytime i went to ride it it was out of action.

Time to start planning for the next trip!

Welcome back, so pleased you enjoyed your solo trip. Happy planning for the next one

Welcome back! I love the Cheyenne - great themeing, but yes it desperately needs the refurb!

Insanely jealous of anyone who does a solo trip! lol Not sure I can convince family that it's a good idea for me to go alone..... they'd be far too jealous!

I was at they Cheyenne last week and loved it. I thought any dirt around the place was created by guests and not the fault of the hotel itself eg beside us at dinner one family dropped food, tissues and other paper on the floor and couldn't seem to bend to pick any of it up! Was it weird going on a solo trip. I'd love to do it sometime but dunno if I'd be brave enough

I do solo trips all the time, both to Disney Parks and city breaks. I love my solo trips, it gives me an escape from day to life and a chance for me to recharge. I love the freedom to do the parks the way I want, to eat in the restaurants I want and not have to accommodate anyone else's needs. I will be back in DLP for my 3rd visit and I cant wait.

I am totally comfortable eating on my own in restaurants and going to shows by myself. Honestly people do not look at you strange or even notice you are on your own. Most people at Disney are far too wrapped up in their own Disney Bubble to care

Glad you had a nice solo trip! I've done WDW a few times by myself and have enjoyed it. I also travel for work quite a bit on my own and its nice to go at your own pace. I agree, people, esp at Disney, don't seem to notice or care that you're solo.

That's awesome I really want to get back to the American parks but I think if I ever go over there again it will be a solo trip.
