Hey all! Myself + GF + GF's parents got back from Florida yesterday, 18/10/10, absolutely exhausted but with enough happy memories to last a lifetime! :goodvibes
I took thousands of photos, and will be starting a detailed trippie shortly. In the meantime however, here are the immediate Highs and Lows that come to mind;

Highs

WWOHP - Absolutely loved this place! Butterbeer is Laaarvely, but frozen butterbeer is DIVINE! The best place to get it from was inside the Hogs Head, as the queues outside were huge and it appeared most weren't aware that it was served in here :thumbsup2 Forbidden Journey was amazing, but broke down on our first two rides, which put a slight dampener on it. The whole castle, village and full ride (third time lucky!!) were just stunning though. Call me controversial however, but I still think Spiderman slightly pips it in the overall Wow factor, even after 10 years..
Hard Rock Hotel and Express - This was so worth the money for the first 2 days of the holiday. It was a really chilled start, just walking to whatever ride we felt like next and getting straight on (We use the Unofficial Guide plans for the Disney parks, which were again spot on) :) It meant that I could do my favourite ride in the world (Jaws) as many times as I fancied!! :cloud9: Speaking of which, It was so good to see that the full fire effects were being used on it at night again, as well as the vortex being back on at Poseidons Fury :woohoo: The HRH was much more luxurious than I imagined, and the staff were lovely. We didn't stay the night due to the fact that it would have been a bit awkward sleeping in the same room as my gf's parents, but we would definitely stay there if we go to Florida as a couple again.
Halloween Horror Nights - After wanting to go for over 15 years, this absolutely exceeded my expectations!! An incredible night out, made even better with the tips/touring plan from the Uni section of the Disboards! :thumbsup2 I would just say though, that Express is essential for this event if you want to see all of the houses and the Bill & Ted Show in one night, even on a Thursday or Sunday. Dogs of War was the best house, and Saws & Steam the best scarezone imho :scared1:
The Disney Parks - Fantastic as always. Their fireworks and evening shows are still the best in the world! :smickey:
Having a Villa - I forgot how much better this makes an Orlando vacation. We stayed in Indian Creek, and to go from the manic Illumination exit crowds to a quiet private hot tub in less than 15 minutes was just lush :love:
The Outback Steakhouse - Still the best steak out there! Love the Bread and whipped butter they do also, along with the Bloomin Onions and Coconut Shrimp:goodvibes We weighed ourselves before and after the holiday, and I won by putting on a full stone in 2 weeks!! :rotfl: This is on the High list still, because I loved every minute of doing it and couldn't give a monkeys!!! :laughing:

Lows

I had to go back to work today!! :rotfl:

Tons more good stuff to be discussed in my trippie, but just wanted to say Hi to you all for now! xx

Superb totally agree about HRH thats why we have booked 3 nights giving us 4 days FOTLP allowing us to relax dusring the day at the pool.

Welcome Back.
Totally agree about Frozen Butterbeer, delicious, we also got of from inside the Hogs Head, although Barman was a right misery it was a lot faster than outside.
You beat me, I put on 10 pounds in 25 nights.

Glad to hear you had such a wonderful holiday, it is always so nice to read about fanastic trips :)

Welcome home!

BTW those pounds don't count - they are just measures of magic. You nee them to keep you topped up to your next trip.

Glad you had a fab time Martin. I look forward to reading your TR. :thumbsup2

Welcome back!

Is the vortex on all the time now at Poseidons Fury?

I :love::love: whipped butter!

Welcome back. Glad you had a great trip. Looking forward to the trip report.

Is the vortex on all the time now at Poseidons Fury?

No one is 100% sure yet, but hopefully so. It uses a lot of power, so may be turned off in months like January/February, but we'll just have to wait and see.
It is still an awe-inspiring sight, and the highlight of the attraction for me :thumbsup2

Welcome home Martin, so glad to hear you had a great time:thumbsup2

I think it is all the walking. For the loyal followers of the UG/Touringplans.com there is even more walking with all the backtracking. I didn't want to think of food by the last few days and we used up all our credits too :scared1: Of course now I DO want the cinnamon roll from Main St Bakery that I couldn't face on Friday night :rolleyes1
