Hi everyone, well we got back a couple of weeks ago (sept 25 - oct 3) and had a FANTASTIC time at the fort - it was our first visit and we got a cabin for 4 adults and 1 child.
It was such a great vacation that i knew something would be wrong when we got home - and of course we had 2" of water in our basement. Hense why it's taken so long to jump on here.
Loved everything about the Fort - except - They seriously need a quick service meal option after 5:00 when the pool food area closed. We did the meal plan and did our table service for lunch (great cause we cooled off and relaxed half way through the day) but then we would leave the park and be ready to eat dinner but it was fustrating knowing we didn't have an option at the Fort - (and pizza doesn't cut it) so we would end up at the contempary or Wilderness lodge (or my new favorite Earl of Sandwich).
What was with those LOVE BUGS!!! i wish someone would have told me about them. We had to leave Animal Kingdom the one day cause they were so bad. They got better by the time we left but they were horrible! Don't book for the end of September if you can't handle them flying everywhere!
Loved our cabin, it was great, it was like a mini escape from the whole disney crazy atmosphere. It was so dark in the morning it was hard to get everyone up and moving by 7 am. Enjoyed eating breakfast at the cabin.
Highly recommend Kenny - great having the golf cart.
Best campground we've ever stayed in hands down!!!
***Note - someone on these boards asked a question a while back about the length of the bunk beds - they do seem short - i'm 5'7" and my feet were on the ladder. My DH and i are use to a king size bed so the double was a little tight - after the first night i transfered to the bunk bed (which my DS thought was cool) ***
My son is convinced that he wants to do a Disney Cruise in 2 years - i think we'll do a few days at Disney Fort and then do the cruise. We can't disappoint him!
so we'll just have to go. Oh darn
