Back from the Dude Ranch....

I made it back in one piece from the Dude ranch trip with my daughter's GS troop . The kids had a blast- it was a great place for kids. The only bad part was one parent was an hour late picking her daughters up when we returned- her excuse was that she had company Let me know if anyone has questions about the Pine Grove Dude Ranch

I'm glad you all had a good time!! I'd love to hear all about it because we're considering taking a family trip there. Would our DSs, ages 15 and 12, enjoy it? How were the rooms? What's the layout of the resort like?? How was the food?? Thanks!

We are going to a dude ranch in Colorado for a niece's wedding in June. There will be about 70 of us there for the big event. It looks like a really fun place.

Seaspray- I picked up some brochures- I can mail them to you if you like. The activities they have there are fishing, paddleboats, hay rides, horseback riding at all levels, archery, indoor and outdoor pool, volleyball and tennis courts, rock climbing wall, bingo. There is a dance club with a DJ. As far as accomodations- let's just say if the Brady Bunch visited a Dude Ranch, this is where they would go .

Glad to hear you had a good time. My dd will be going to The Pine Grove Dude Ranch in a couple of weeks with her troop. What was your daughters favorite thing? Was there any particular "must do" or "must bring"? She'll be taking her camera with her. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Tell her to bring at least 2 rolls of film, or 2 disposable cameras , especially if she wants to earn the camera badge. Our girls were mostly 10 year olds, and their favorite thing was fishing. An old pair of sneakers or boots for outside is a good idea too because it's pretty muddy. There is a gift shop with the usual expensive souveniers, but the best item was probably the 6.00 keychain with a photo of each girl on horseback-there are photographers that take pictures throughout the weekend.

I feel sorry for that daughter! You should have asked her why her time was more important than yours!

Thanks for the offer of the brochures, but I was on the Pine Grove web site last weekend and ordered some, so I hope they arrive soon
What do you mean about the Brady Bunch?? LOL Do you mean the furnishings were old fashioned or something?? LOL

How was the food?? I know it's included, but I was wonderingwhat you thought of it.

Seaspray- the food was pretty so-so, but the kids seemed to enjoy it. As far as the decor, early 70's dude ranch . It is a very easy ride from Ma. . Just take the Ma. pike till you hit the NY thruway, then get off at Kingson exit. Take 209 South for about 20 miles, and then Samsonville Rd. This road takes you right to the main lodge
