Back from the cabins :(

Can't foget some graham cracker, marshmallows, and chocolate for smores at the campfire! Lots of fun!

Also, I am not sure if it is mentioned. but with little ones always make sure you have a mini first aid kit with the basics like bandaids, benadryl, tylenol, and imodium and even some pedialyte. We spent 4 days of our December vacation last year huddled in the camper as my DD2 (then 18 mos), and myself (at the time 6 mos pregnant with DD 3 mos) were sick with a stomach virus.

Not fun. So be prepared so you can ward off evil spirits!

Enjoy!

We got a lot of clothes ready this weekend, did some more shopping for the kids. Today we're breaking out the big suitcases. Currently we just have random stuff shoved in our carry-on suitcases that have been in our bedroom taking up space. The stuff had been in just a big pile and when it started taking over we crammed it in the carry-ons. That will be fun now that we have to sort it all out again. I have the itinerary done and printed, addresses typed up for our GPS, Winn-Dixie info printed and the card stuck in my purse.

Wednesday is last minute shopping at Kohls and a pedicure at the mall to get some cute Mickey's put on my toes :)

I can't wait to be there and see you all!

We packed a few suitcases yesterday, got most of the snacks ready for the trip, vacuumed and got the van ready. I'm feeling good about being ahead.

Are you bringing lights for the deck? How many should we bring? I packed some command hooks to put them up.

Can't wait to see you all too!

I'm undecided about lights. I think it will depend how much room we have in our suitcases. I'm a little nervous about how all the stuff is going to fit on the plane and then in the car. We have 2 big suitcases, 5 carryons plus personal bags, 1 stroller, 1 car seat and 1 body board. I'm hoping they'll gate check the body board otherwise we'll just leave it in the car at the airport.

I am getting excited. Kids still don't know. You two should check out how my kids will find out. We are planning to go to PA (which has allowed me to explain the packing) and once we get there we are making a stop and all of us are heading out of the car. Upon return they will find something....

Thats pretty awesome! Our kids are getting pretty excited. We packed tonight while they were gone, took almost 4 hours!!! Yikes! Oh well, we have Wednesday night to finish when they're gone again. We have to return a couple things, buy a couple things and I have to get my pedicure with my Mickeys on my toes :earsboy:

WONDERFUL! I wish I could be there to see their reaction. That is a FANTASTIC way to let them know.

We were packing on Sunday and my DD was trying to decide which of her Webkins to take. She chose her Otter and I almost gave it away and said something like "how perfect, because of the Otters at Fort Wilderness."

It's going to be tough keeping the secret. DD and DS are at their grandparents today, so DH and I are going to pack everything that is Fort-related while they're not at home. We're bringing some folding chairs, tablecloth for the picnic table, stuff for the barbecue, extra frying pans and DD would notice and question why???

Getting SO excited.:yay:

Your daughter is into Webkins too?? How old is she?? My DD is 10 and loves them. I didn't know they had an Otter webkin.

How are you telling your kids?? Are you flying or driving?? How bad is PA construction?? It took us 4-4.5 hours to drive through the state (excluding stops)

I guess my title is a little deceiving... We leave for Orlando in 2 days, we don't go to the cabin for 4 more days. Oh well!

Yep, she discovered Webkins last year! She has about a dozen - I won't let her get anymore because she doesn't play with all of them, so she can't have more! She's 8 and A HALF as she insists on telling everyone, going into 3rd grade. She has an orca whale, baby seal, L'il hippo, chicken, bald eagle, panda, penguin, otter, frog, horse. I'm sure I'm missing one or two. She's bringing 4 of them on the trip, plus her teddy bear.

We live south of Philadelphia, so we'll be going on 202 to 95 in Delaware at Wilmington, so I can't tell you about the traffic at all. Sorry. :confused3

How cute! What a great idea!! Last year, DH took kids to church on Sunday evening and I packed us all and loaded the van. They were clueless even though half of their drawers were empty. When the alarm went off Monday morning, DH and I were dressed and ready standing in the hallway shouting,
"get dressed, we're going to Disney World!" It was sooo priceless. They know we're going this year, but we always have surprises up our sleeves.;)

I hope all of you who are leaving this week have a great time!!!:cheer2:

I am sitting here TRYING to relax and I can't say a thing! Van is cleaned. Clothes are packed. Other than toothpaste to put into medicine bage, WE ARE READY TO GO TO PENNSYLVANIA...well that's what the kids think ;)

Thanks! I am ready! I am horrible with surprises, there's no way I could keep a trip we've been planning over a year a secret. I'd bust

I still have today and half a day at work and I'm going CRAZY!!! I'm thinking about stuff I have to do and just the anticipation is killing me!

We didn't keep the trip a secret, but the kids don't know that we are staying at the Fort, nor do they know we are going to Universal/IOA for 2 days. That has been hard enough!

I made FW shirts for the family which I've had to hide, and we are taking the kid's SpongeBob t-shirts without telling them, so they have something to wear to Universal. The lights for the deck, tablecloth for the picnic table, extra frying pans - so many things that are fort-specific that we can't discuss.

It's been REALLY tough to keep this stuff a secret. I have NO IDEA how to keep a whole trip a secrety.

So they know you are going away?? If they know that then tell them u need an extra frying pan to cook.

Everyone, have a great time!! Don't forget to pick up me and Born 2 Fish up. We will be the 2 guys on interstate 75 holding fishing poles...LoL!!

Don't forget to pack the wipes. Those always are useful after eating sandwiches, cleaning, etc. Especially when you have small kids like me.

Have fun yall.
