Had a wonderful honeymoon, spent 4 days at WDW before, spent the night before at the Radisson at the Port, then 7 days on the Magic. This was my 2nd cruise (1st with Disney) and my wife's first cruise. These boards helped out so much and made our vacation even more enjoyable.
Some Highlights:
-The entire crew from Capt Henry, Cruise Director Jim, the servers, stewards were EXCELLENT, all did an outstanding job in keeping us happy.
-We had no problem making our Palos or Spa reservations. We were the first 25 or so to board the ship, we went straight to Palos then the SPA. Palos started taking ressies around 15 minutes before the time listed on the navigator. We went to Palos first, then the SPA, there was no lines at the SPA. After we were done, we had lunch at topsiders.
-We really loved our verandah, it seems like it was the quickest way to warm up the stateroom and it was very nice to sleep with the door open and hearing the ocean. We also ordered room service breakfast for most of the days and this worked out great! We enjoyed hanging out on the verandah eating breakfast.
-The food in the main dining are was very good, would have liked to seen more appetizer and entree selections, but thats a minor gripe. Our staff (Vlado and Dennis) very great, very attentive and made excellent recommendations. Palos was EXCELLENT and the chocolate souflee was to die for. We really enjoyed eating brunch at Palos even more than dinner. Salvadore was our server and he was great!
-Our luggage showed up at 5:30 and we had 6pm dinner. We did have clothes for dinner anyway and next time I will bring an extra shirt/swimsuit to carry-on the ship. I sweated a bit on the shirt I was planning to wear to dinner, so I was happy to see the luggage come
-The SPA was great. We did the surial bath and it was excellent
We also did the couples massage later in the week.
-We enjoyed most of the shows, Hercules being the most disappointing. Disney Dreams was excellent. We thought the adult entertainment was very good. The dueling pianos was great and so was the comedian Rich Purpurra. We thought there was enough adult entertainment to keep us busy.
-The ports were nice. We had a great time at Dawn Beach at St Maarten (we took a taxi). We did the 5 star snorkling excursion at St John which was nice, but decided we would do something on our own next time since the snorkling time was only 1.5 hours.
-Castaway Cay was great, we spent most of the time at Serenity Bay and it was not crowded and very nice. We spent most of the time relaxing on the chairs in the water and drinking konk coolers
We were dissapointed to find out that the post office ran out of stamps in the afternoon. I spoke with Guest Services and they said they dont remember that ever happening. I gave them my postcards and they offered to mail them the next time they are in castaway cay again, that was very nice.
-We thought the adult areas were segmented very well. Never saw any kids in the adult pool or adult entertainment areas. Disney did a great job supervising the areas.
-Embarkation and Disembarktation went VERY smooth, took us all but 10 minutes to leave the ship, find our luggage, and head out to the parking lot to grab the shuttle.
Overall, we had an excellent trip and we are in the process of planning a western carrib cruise.
For those who are thinking that Disney Cruises are not for adults, think again, we had a great time.
