Hello all!! We just got back from a lovely stay at WDW. We arrived January 10, stayed 3 nights at the Swan using the nurses rate, $129/night. For all of you who are nurses, teachers, or government employees and may want to do some "point conservation" by staying at a hotel for the weekend, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. The rooms were great, the beds were "Heavenly" (as promised), the staff was nice, the amenities were excellent...I really can't say a bad thing about it.
Anyhow, on Monday we moved over to the BCV, room 134, a dedicated 2 BR. We had 5 adults staying there...2 couples and a single. Each of the couples got a bedroom, the single got the couch. The room was nice, in good repair, the folks at the BC were great as always(except for one gift shop person who was a little miffed about a member of our group returning a sweatshirt that didn't fit). The room was great because we could go out our patio door, cut across the grass and be in the Dunes Cove quiet pool/hot tub area (a lovely thing!). Love the location, as far as walking to Epcot and walking/boating to MGM, love being so near the Boardwalk, and its nightlife, which I sometimes enjoy more than PI because it is not so "frenetic".
We were there for the shuttle launch and were able to see it go over the top of the hotel...pretty neat. The weather was nice, especially for us northerners as at home the temps were 0-10 degrees. Most days it was in the 60's, a couple of days got into the 70's...worked for me
!!!
All in all a great trip, and cemented in my mind what a great decision it was to buy DVC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
