We just got back last night from another terrific trip to WDW!

We arrived Tuesday around 6PM at SSR. There were no lines at check-in. We were assigned a dedicated two bedroom in the Paddock section. We wanted to be in the Grandstand section and asked to see if a dedicated two bedroom was available. Sure enough we got unit 9121 in the Grandstand. It was a great start to a great vacation.

The room was great and appeared in pretty good shape. We had two complaints about the room. First, the floor in the master bath was poorly cleaned. Second, the perimeter of the master shower was not properly cleaned also. Everything else was cleaned and stocked as it was supposed to be upon check-in.

Bus service was fantastic! We most be some of the luckiest people with the buses. We had less then a 5 minute wait for every bus, most of the time the bus we wanted pulled up as we got to the stop. We only had one bad bus incident and that was returning from EPCOT on Wednesday. We had to wait for three buses before we were able to board.

On a side note about the SSR buses. I did see that in the morning, the Congress Park bus stop was full of DTD hotel guests. Twice I saw this lead to the bus filling up and unable to pick up the guest at the Springs bus stop.

We went to our first MNSSHP. We loved every bit of it. We had planned not to trick or treat, but ended up hitting all of the candy stations anyway. We went to almost all of the character meet and greets. Did the villian mix and mingle, saw the fireworks and the second parade. Anyone who has never been to the MNSSHP before, should add that to the "must do" catagory.

We planned in some down time on this trip. The girls had set up a reservation for afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. The guys went to the Contemporary and rented sea racers. Both the guys and the girls had a blast. Both were alot of fun and as a bonus, they are reasonably priced.

We went to Party For The Senses Saturday night. Was on the look out for some fellow disboard members, but met none. This is one of our favorite events and once again we were not disappointed. The girls got to meet Joey Fatone from N-Sync and Cat Cora from Iron Chef. Both of them were very cordial and took the time for pictures. We were disappointed with the lack of chairs at the event, again. Some of the guests were very rude, but that did not take away from our good time at the PFTS.

Cast members were extremely friendly, helpful and did everything you would expect when visiting WDW. Our will call tickets for the MNSSHP lost, but guest service took care of it in under 10 minutes and for of incovience, threw in fast passes for everyone in our group (9 of us). We had reservations at Cinderellas Royal Table for 5. Some friends of ours wanted to join us, so I went to the check-in and inquired with the cast member behind the podium if we could add 4 to our reservation. I did not know it, but the manager was behind me and overheard my request. He interjected himself into the conversation and told the cast member to go ahead and change the reservation. Just this one act was enough to make the trip for our friends! They had been calling the dining reservation number for months trying to get in to CRT.

I can go on and on about the trip. Everyone was so sad to see the dreaded envelope hanging on the door Sunday morning, and today we are all back in the real world. Work, school, bills, chores, blah, blah, blah.....

On a bright note, we only have 52 days before our next trip!!!

Thanks for the review! I've been to SSR twice now and will be heading back in twenty days. I really love it there.

Glad you had a great time (other than the messy floors ;))

Sounds like a great trip! WE just returned to the real world from WDW last night as well. We were at OKW and the buses were great there too. I also felt that all of the CMs that we met were great and very much up to expectations.

That is a dreaded envelope!

:sad2: We call that envelope "the sadness". Sort of treat it like a disease. We walk by a room with the envelope on the door and say "Oh look - they got the sadness..."

I hate "envelope day" too....

Cant wait to visit SSR! ALmost at the 30 day mark!! Requested Grandstand as well! Glad you enjoyed your trip!!

I love that(not the envelope, of course), and will be using it from now on. :thumbsup2

It was so special that your friends were added on to your dinner ressie! I'm glad you had such a great trip and only a little wait until your next one!

Were you at the back of the room with Joey and Cat Cora. We were there and got their autographs. There were some ladies in line with us taking pics...maybe it was you!

Loved your trip report. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

We had one of the "standing only" tables at the back also. We were right in front of the last stand along the wall, before you got to Joey's table. The girls got his picture when he walked near our table. They didn't want to approach him and be rude. They had thier picture taken in front of the first center station, near the rear of the hall.

curious as to how one would know they are DTD hotel guests, do they look different. :confused3

Maybe they are forced to wear a sign around their neck which states they are DTD hotel guests.:confused3

No. They're painted bright orange with polka dots of different colors, depending on which DTD hotel they're from. :goodvibes

Can't say I've figured out where everyone is from. I did notice a group getting off the bus at CP one night and asking for directions to DTD. There was maybe 7 of them and they came from one of the theme parks along with me. Whether they were onsite guests or those nefarious offsite DTD parkers is a secret kept by my paranoid alterego.

Was waiting for someone to ask. We are early risers, like to get of coffee/tea and walk around the resort. We saw the people walking over from the paths to DTD. Second, we are "friendly" people, striking up conversations with the other bus riders. Two of the mornings we were just asking people about the resort, wehere the were staying, etc. Alot of them were staying at the Hilton and such.

The morning I left, I was having my coffee and chocolate danish at the AP. Started talking to the two tables next to me about Disney, our trip, blah, blah. Come to find out, they were staying at the Hilton and just stop in for a quick bite, no EMH for them.

But to sum up, we just talked to them and asked. Plus at times, we just listen.

I always see DTD hotel guests using the SSR bus at night, but it usually just a couple, no big deal. How do I know, Sammie might ask.......Well, I am usually one of the ones standing at the front. I get to hear the same request from guests to the bus driver. "Is this the bus to get to the hotels at DTD" or "What stop do I get off and how do I get to the (insert hotel name)". These small number of people do not bother me. Seeing the bus fill up at the Congress Park stop with non-resort guests, and seeing the Springs stop guests not being able to board ,does bother me.

Be sure to let MS know this, as I have voiced this concern to MS and DVC management and I was told that, one, very few do this and two, unless someone complains, they are not into stopping it or monitoring it. Which was the reason I was curious as to how you knew where they came from, as I was asked that.
