Back from Sheraton Vistana - LOVED IT!!!

Wow! first of all thank you to all the Dis-ers for great advice - we did the Diamond Lane and got a first floor unit in Falls building 21 - literally steps to the Falls pool. We were never hassled for the time share presentation...a few messages but we deleted them. the unit was GORGEOUS - huge, sparkling clean, updated and tranquil. We loved having a quiet escape after a busy day in the parks. One night we ate dinner at BOMA and I remarked to my partner that while we loved the restaurant and the AKL it was FULL of loud families and little kids -- even my 11 year old appreciated the calm and serenity when we got back to Vistana. Commuting couldn't have been easier -- one day we literally walked off Space Ship Earth at epcot and 15 minutes later were in the Falls pool -- we had the AAA Diamond parking so it was easy peasy... We spent most of our Time at the Falls pool which we loved -- from there youc an walk to the Spa's pool, the Springs Super Pool, the rec center and then it was just a bit further to the market and the Cascades pool. We ate lunch at the Fountains food court our first day but never went back - it seemed to noisy and busy over there- our side was SOOO tranquil. I don't think I'd ever ask for another section but the Falls to be honest... We ate outdoors at Zimmies one night-- one day enjoyed margaritas while lounging in the huge hot tub at the Springs Super pool, my 11 year old DD got her hair wrapped and went down the Falls Pool Slide about 8000 times. We truly could not have been happier -- thank you all for the great advice here!
Oh and I recall a Dis-er who said she was going to be there at the same time as us? Blonde with cane? I never saw you at the resort but I THINK I stood next to you watching one of the shows in front of the Castle on Friday -- but I was too shy to find out!

anyway - I would HIGHLY reccommend the Vistana to one and all!

We loved the resort also when we stayed there a couple fo summers ago. Very nice, even though it rained the whole time! We love the Vistana Villages, too.

We need a great place to stay for about 3 nights this July. We want to be fairly close to DTD where Saratoga Springs is because we are DVC membes and staying there for 6 nights. However we want to extend our trip by 3 nights and I want a place that has great pool area for our ds 16 and ds 11. Pools are very important to us for them on these summer trips. Can you tell me about the pools here? Thanks

Sure-- there are seven pools - the Falls pool has a neat slide the three super pools have waterfalls and fountains and then there are some quieter pools. we swam in four of the seven pools and enjoyed several hot tubs as well... We LOVED it here!

At the Main Recreation center next to the Springs Super Pool - cost about $22 -- she went in and had it wrapped and my partner and I enjoyed drinks in the big hot tub while we waited for her!

We really enjoy this resort too. I've stayed here four different times. The kids love this place so much that in a week long stay we usually only do a major theme park every other day and on off days hang at the resort and do a small mini attraction. We are a tennis playing famiy and absolutely love the clay tennis courts too. You don't find these too many places these days unless you are at a tennis resort.

Thanks for posting your report! We are staying at Vistana in Nov and cannot wait!! Can I ask about the renovations? Are they almost complete? Did you notice any construction/noise? After reading how relaxing your stay was at Falls, we may request that area thru Diamond lane. I have a DD11 also, and she would love the slide and the hair wrapping! Thanks for the tips!!

There seemed to be stuff going on either in Cascades or Spas but frankly I barely noticed!

yes we loved Falls -- but I think the Courts is just as good - their pool is literally next to the Falls pool LOL - you'll have a blast!

anyone can use it - if you google Diamond Lane/ Sheraton Vistana you'll see the instructions- we put our request in for a renovated first floor unit close to the pool about 3 weeks before we left then called the week of our trip to confirm it... have fun!
