I am back from my trip. Stayed at the Royal Pacific on May 30th & 31st. Our room wasn't ready when we got there but I didn't expect it to. We arrived at 10:30am. It was ready by noon. They didn't have any upgrades available (with my Gold Member Status). The room they gave us was on the 2nd floor and not too far from the elevator (for my husbands leg). Room was perfect. We had a garden type view (sort of on the side where you can see the water around the front & the gardens on the side). Only complaint was that both nights (and 3 days) the ice machine wasn't working!!!! We had to go to the 3rd floor for ice. Check in was a breeze and they had never charged my deposit to my charge card....did all charges on arrival. I used my gift certificates from Clear Channel at The Kitchen. There ended up being 2 adults & 2 children. We did indeed use up the entire $50 plus $4.00 more. Food was good. My husband and I had the chicken with potatoes & string beans. My daughter had the kids chicken meal & her friend had the kids steak meal. The kids portions were larger than the adult ones! We used the other GC at Pastmores. Boy did we get food!!! 1-16 inch cheese pizza, 1-16 inch pepperoni pizza, 2 meatball parms subs with side salad and a chicken alfredo meal. We some for lunch, some for dinner & one of the pizza'a for lunch the next day. I would definatly get them again. The parks were on the crowded side (it was Memorial Day Weekend). I would have never survived if not for the FOTL. On Sunday....we had about 10-15 minute waits for everything except the Mummy, that was 30-35 minutes. On Monday (Memorial Day) with FOLT the Mummy was an hour wait at one point!! Everything else was between 5-15 minute waits. On Tuesday everything (including the Mummy) was a 5-15 minute wait. We left Universal around 11:30 on Tuesday and then headed over to Disney.... PO-FQ. Our room was ready when we got there.
.... Also just to update everyone on my husbands news with work & workers comp.... so far nothing!!! The attorney has sent out letters to both the company and workers comp and hasn't heard from either of them (that was 4 weeks yesterday). He still hasn't found a job... he has gone on many interviews....not much work around for a pressman (supervisor), infact...there is nothing other than the company he worked for! He has gone on interviews from truck driving (has his CDL) to store mangement....and nothing!!! The salary range of these jobs are also 1/2 of what he had been making, but he is to the point where anything is better than nothing.... he is getting unemployment, but that doesn't go very far. We had our 2 week vacation despite no job and we aren't sorry we did. He (we) needed that break.. he even drove home from WDW for 2 days to go on interviews then came back up.
...... I want to start planing my next trip but I am unsure of doing it without him working... if I do and he ends up not finding something I will have to cancel.... I may just try Priceline or SkyAuction for something.... I had wanted to go back at the end of July. There is a concert (Warped Tour) in Orlando that my daughter wants to go to at the end of July... I figured that I could possibly use Priceline and go for 3 days or so ( a week if I could get something on SkyAuction) & do Universal.... once more before I have to return to work on Aug 6th. :)

Hi Sharon! Glad you had a great time -- we can't wait to try the RPR in October! Sounds like you give it much better reviews than the HRH.

Hope your hubby's job situation looks up soon. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts!

Glad u had a good trip and hope your husband finds work soon
:jester:Did u enjoy PO FQ we are booked there for 2 weeks next year:earsboy:

Glad you enjoyed your holiday. I notice that you live in Cape Coral. We are going to RPR in October followed by a week in Cape Coral staying in a private villa ( with boat ! ) and are very excited about it.

We have previously been to Fort Myers beach area but not cape Coral so would appreciate any advice you may have regarding nice places to eat, good beaches to sail too, shopping malls, nearest supermarkets etc, etc. I think the villa is situated near the Yacht club.

We have 2 daughters ages 8 and 15 so anything special that will keep them happy would be good too !

What time did you go and eat at The Kitchen? If it was lunch, do you think the portions were pretty good for a lunch menu? Glad you had a nice time. I bet you are glad you went.
