We just got back late Saturday from a great stay at POR. After staying here, we will never go back to a value resort. We loved it!

We were in Alligator Bayou 3811 & 3812. Very secluded and quiet rooms and about a 5-7 minute walk to food court and close to the main pool. We were also near a quiet pool that we had to ourselves. We rarely saw any other guests in our area.

The bus service was fabulous. We used the North depot and never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus. Never had any problems getting a seat. Only problem we encountered was when we tried to get a bus to the Magic Kingdom one morning from the South Depot (at the main bldg) Very crowded and had to wait for 2 buses before we could get on. After that, we only used the North Depot.

We took the boat to Downtown Disney and really enjoyed the trip. Little or no wait in either direction. Nice ride but not for those in a hurry to get somewhere. The second time we went, we drove. Got there in 5 minutes vs 20 on the boat.

Food court was fine. Average quality at Disney prices. The only time we at breakfast there, the computers were down and we had to stand in line 20 minutes to pay for our food. Portions were huge and we easily shared most meals.

As far as renovations: Bldg 35 (or was it 36) is currently ungoing renovation with the rest of the buildings in the 30's being done next.

Any questions?

Sounds like you had a great time! :)

POR is my favorite onsite so far (though I haven't stayed there since it was Dixie Landings). I hope I get to go back soon. :)

So glad you had a good stay at POR!

Also good to know they started to refurbish the AB rooms. I'm hopping to get a newly redone room when we are there next month.

Thanks for reporting back to us!

Great to hear about it! We are leaving Oct. 14 (I hope) for POR and hoping it is worth the price. Are the free refrigerators in the room? What are the fishing holes really all about? Can you really go fishing at the fishing holes?

We stayed at ASMo in 2000 and thought that was great, so I'm thinking we will love POR too. Thanks for the report.

I just got back from POR on Friday. We stayed in the mansions section in Paterre Place. It was a great stay. I have to agree with the previous poster on almost all points. Boat to DTD was great, the bus service was excellent except for the MK buses in the morning. The food court was okay. We got all our food for $5.00 the morning the computers were down.

The frigs weren't in the rooms yet however we requested one and got it at no charge. It was the dorm size refrigerator.

We saw people fishing at the fishing hole but saw no one catch anything. Only used the pool at Old Man Island yet, however our DD 16 months discovered the playground and we had to drag her off of it more than once. We stayed at the quiet pool between Pat. Place and Oak Manor most of the time.

One warning, DO NOT rent the sea racyer boats from the marina. They are painfully slow and boring. Go to the Contermporary and rent a boat their if you gonna. They are much faster and much more fun.

We leave in 25 days! Just Curious If anyone has any photos of the Quiet Pools in the AB section..
I put in a request for that side of the of the resort and just wondered what the quiet pools looked like....
