Hi everyone.
Mousekeeping - assigned a room in Parterre Place. I've stayed in this mansion before - very convenient to the main building and main bus stop. Received a lovely room on the first floor in the garden. Opened the door and almost gagged on the cigarette smell (this was a non-smoking room). Called mousekeeping and they came in about 30 minutes just as we were leaving. When we got back the smell was gone and a small fan had been left and was going in the room. The next day (Friday) DD left her watch on the nightstand (yes, she shouldn't have). We left a tip and a note of some extras we needed (towels, pillow, and a box of kleenex since the room didn't have one). When we got back the room had been tidied up, tip was gone, the extras were not there, the kleenex was not provided and the watch had disappeared (DD searched everywhere). We called mousekeeping and they brought the extras later in the day. The next day when we got back from the parks the room hadn't been cleaned, but the watch was sitting prominently on the nightstand. The room never did get cleaned that day. We did call the mousekeeping supervisor and never was able to connect personally, but did leave him a message. This is the first mousekeeping issues I've had at this resort and I've stayed here at least 6 times. I wouldn't worry about this for those of you with upcoming trips. Just be sure to put the valuables away.
Didn't go to the main pool so I cannot answer about the hot tub.
We tried to eat at Boatwrights but they couldn't seat us until 9:40. Apparently the manager decreases the staff later at night so they can't fill all the tables. Crazy, huh?! So, we ate at the food court and saved a bunch of money. I've eaten at Boatwrights in the past and enjoyed it. The garlic cheese bites are outstanding.
Have not taken the carriage ride, but the carriage is beautiful.
Yes, we had a fridge. It was a good size - a little bigger than the usual small fridge. If it has a freezer section it is VERY small! The fridge was a BIG bonus!
We did not have any transporation issues at POR, but then when we stay at this resort, we always prepare ourselves that this resort has 2000 rooms and the buses will be crowded. The buses were PACKED! At MK the first night, the line for POR was at least 3 buses. However, the POFQ line was quite small. We and 4 others rode the POFQ bus and walked the 10 minute walk to Parterre Place. At MGM the next night we waited for 2 buses and had to stand. The buses worked for us though.
There was a coffee maker, coffee and utensils in the room. We are not coffee drinkers so I don't know about filters. I got the impression that everything you needed was provided. There was also an ironing board in the room.
The privacy curtain is a fabulous idea! We had 4 adults (DH, DD and DS). The privacy was very welcome! The mattresses and pillows appeared to be new. The carpet and wallpaper also appeared to be new. The furniture was in good condition.
Overall, this has always been one of our favorite resorts. We were a little nervous since we've been staying in deluxes most recently, but aside from the mousekeeping issues, we had a wonderful stay. It was nice to be "home"!
