Got back on Sudnay from PO-FQ. We left on 5/30 & stayed 2 nights in Unviersal at the Royal Pacific, then over to Port Orleans-FQ on 6/1. We were suppose to check out of PO-FQ on the 8th and then into AS-Sports from 6/8-6/12. PO-FQ had availability so I was able to just extend my stay there and not transfer over. It was only $15 per day more and well worth it!. Our room was ready at check in. We checked in about 1pm. We were given a first floor smoking (my husband smokes) just as we requested. We were in Bldg 2 down by the water but on the garden view side. Room was just right. Beds & pillows were very comfy!!! When we checked in, it was me, my husband, my daughter & her friend (they are 10 & 11). The girls LOVED the curtian LOL. They would pretend to put on shows for us! On 6/4 my daughter's friend's Mom came up and they stayed at AS-Sports. They took up my older daughter (15). We did the daughter swap. We had our 2 daughters & the Mom had her daughter. The curtian worked out great with my 2 daughters. They were both able to get dressed at the same time (one in the bathroom and one by the sinks). Besides our normal Fl afternoon rains, our trip was great...I wished I didn't have to come home. We ate at least one meal everyday at the food court. I have the Disney Dining Card and save 20%. It was cheaper for us to eat there than going to a fast food place. Food was good and cooked up fresh in front of us. My younger daughter fell in love with the giant cookie ice crean sandwich. We ordered it several times as our "dessert". PO-FQ was very quiet. Pool wasn't too crowded. The food court was never really crowded either. We had walked up to Riverside and their food court was crowded...but nothing compared to the food court at the AS-Sports. We stopped by there once (while pin trading on a Thursday night) and it was way too crowed.

While on the subject of pin trading... there was a very nice women at Animal Kingdom on Monday the 7th, who gave my daughter a pin.... I don't know who you are, but if you are a member of this board and reading this... thank you so much. My daughter was trading with a cast member and was going to trade away a "Safety Series" pin for just a regular pin. This women saw what my daughter was doing, went up to her and the cast member ...gave the cast memeber a pin off of her lanyard for my daughters trade. That way my daughter got to keep her "Saftey" pin plus got the trade she wanted! Thank you so much...there are still a few kind people left in this world. And thanks to this person, my daughter ended up keeping and then completing the entire saftey series set of pins! :D

Thank you so much for your reveiw! We are so looking forward to our POFQ stay in November!!
So glad you had a good time and were so lucky to extend your stay!
We stayed at CBR last year and loved the curtain too!

Thanks for the review. How did POFQ compare with Royal Pacific? We are also going to both in October.

Oh and how do you get the Disney Dining card?

I am a Fl resident and that is the only way to get the Disney Dining Card. You pay $75 (I think) per year...renewals are $60 per year. I have had the card for about 5 years now. It is well worth the money for me.
Now to compare the RPR to PO-FQ isn't really fair... RPR is more on the lines of Disney's AKL & WL. .... but to be honest... I like PO-FQ better. It is much smaller (which is my main reason for liking it better). They are 3 story bldgs compared to a large tower resort. It has the food court to grab something fast and at a decent price where as the RPR doesn't. The plus's for the RPR are that the rooms are a little bit bigger and they do have queen beds where as PO-FQ has full size, and you cannot beat the FOTL at the parks! That alone makes it worth staying at. My ohter consideration is the money also.... I couldn't afford to stay at the RPR for 11 nights as I did at PO-FQ... my FL rate at the RPR was only $119 (which is great) plus the $6.00 parking fee making it $125 per night, but my rate at PO-FQ was only $74 per night..and that amounts to a very large difference in how long I could stay for!!!! I could have stayed even longer if I had stayed at the AS-Sports....but there is no way in the world I COULD stay at that resort that long.... I like it there but not that much LOL....Hope I answered your questions... you will love both!!!!!! :teeth:

Thanks for the update on POFQ. We'll be there Saturday afternoon. Can't wait!!!

Well, it *is* a bit unique, isn't it? Actually, I'll update my sig with some updated photos when we get back from our trip.

Too Funny Josh.

As I was reading his post and then noticed the pic I thought now that's not right. Poor Nemo!

Anyway,

Glad you enjoyed your stay at PO-FQ we did enjoy ourselves here. Can't wait to see your pics.

We stayed at POFQ this weekend too. Although it was a beautiful resort, the service was terrible. We arrived early, but our room was ready because we had a king room. We brought our luggage to the room and I was going to take a shower, but we had no toiletries(sp?). I used all my shampoo up on the cruise and had no idea where I put my soap. We decided to eat lunch in the food court, so I went to guest services and asked for soap and shampoo. The CM stated that he would send housekeeping to our room while we ate and if there wasn't soap, etc. in our room to call housekeeping. We ate, went for a walk and a little over an hour later returned to our room, with no soap and shampoo. I called housekeeping and they said that they would send someone right away. Two hours later no one, called again. They said they would send someone. Decided to hold off on the shower and go to the parks. We returned from the parks around 11:30. Was hot and tired and wanted a shower, but still no soap and shampoo. Called the front desk and they stated that I could pick it up in the morning. Went early the next morning and had to wait in line for 35 minutes for soap and shampoo. UGH!!!

We called for 2 extra pillows when we first arrived in the room and they were there within 5 minutes. I guess it just all depends on how busy they are when you check in. We checked in on a Tuesday... that really isn't a busy day...(at least I don't think it is)

Just rolled back in after a week at WDW. POFQ was great, although it seems to be getting short shrift compared to POR. Great service, no complaints.

But oh man was it HOT down in Orlando! Interesting observation that you won't see a thermometer at any of the parks. Only time I saw one was on the boat down to DTD and at the Fantasia Gardens mini-golf course (97 on the boat and 91 at the mini-golf, in "the shade"). Today at 4 PM the Tiffiany towncar indicated it was 101 degrees. Everyday was easily 90, and several days crossed 95, and then add in the humidity.

Yeah, I know it's June. Looks like the next trip we'll be taking the kids out of school and going in the off (cooler) season.

For those just back, how was bus service at POFQ? I stayed at POR last month and was at one of the last busstops. It seemed like sometimes the bus never made it that far and the wait was very long. GOing back in August and I picked POFQ thinking since they were the first stop the bus would be better.

va_mouseman...we were at POFQ at the same time, and I agree. It was Hades hot in Orlando last week. Back to winter/spring trips for us!

This was our second time at POFQ and we enjoyed it as much as our first trip. This is by far our favorite mod. The service was outstanding, and we got towel animals galore. The resort didn't seem very crowded at all, and with the exception of the bus to Typhoon Lagoon, we never waited more than 10 minutes and always got a seat. The prime reason we stay at POFQ rather than at POR is because of the shared buses...I can get with standing at the end of the day, but when the bus is packed after POFQ in the morning and still has 4 stops in POR, well that is just plain wrong.

The food court leaves something to be desired. Plenty of choices for breakfast but I'd like more of a variety for lunch and dinner. Still, the positives outweigh the negatives and we'll stay at POFQ in the future.
