And had a great time, but I SO missed the children. In retrospect perhaps DLRP wasn't the best place to go for our first child-free break in 6 years. Everything has memories and it was all rather poignant but we still really enjoyed it, and the Disneyland Hotel was fab.
Before my trippie (which may be some time - we got home at 2am this morning) I have a confession and I'm going to get so jumped on....I couldn't find my camera at the last minute :headache: , and on the first night we had the Degustation Menu at the California Grill so I have no pictures of it. So sorry! I will write full details on the relevant thread though, and I have pics of our other meals - I bought a disposable camera just for you guys the next day! No good me taking lots of halloween or DLH pics since we can't show them to the children, who seem to think we had a holiday in Ashford.
I'm going for a lie down now to recover from our journey back on the Disney Eurostar train....3 1/2 hours on a train full of over-tired, over-excited, screaming children who aren't even your own is not a pleasant experience.

Hello! Welcome back!!

Shame about the camera- Lucky you were able to buy a disposable one though!

I know where you're coming from Britchic - I got back last night, and I'm dead on my feet today.

Still softly singing "Just like we dreeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaamed it" though :rotfl:

Welcome home :wave2:

Look forward to hearing all about your trip :)

is it a joke that you can't tell the kids or you being serious?

Oh my, thats gonna be hard!!!

It's OK they're small enough that they aren't really interested in where we went, just in being spoiled by Grandma (who bought them presents EVERY day!) and in us being back.

Totally know the feeling! Got back this afternoon (stayed in Ashford overnight). Eurostar journey seemed to take forever, especially before the tunnel. We were in a carriage of screamers, thank goodnes for MP3 players! Had a great time though. Can't believe we're back already :confused3

Apparently it's because the fire took out some power thingys (!) they need to operate the high speed line on the French side, so they're having to go back to the route it took before the high speed line was completed.

Welcome back :)

Looking forward to your trip report - and thanks for the tip to wear headphones on the eurostar!

Welcome back to all three of you :)

Cathy - hope you enjoyed the DLH - it's lovely :lovestruc

Can't wait for your TRs :goodvibes

I agree about kiddies - love mine to bits but when I'm not with them I don't want to be bothered by others' :lmao: On our flight out to DLRP my DD2 (5 months old and who is normally as placid as anything) was overtired (she was due a short nap just before we boarded the plane and then wouldn't settle). She absolutely screamed the plane down which was v v embarrassing :headache: The thing was, because we were about to take off I couldn't get up with her or anything - v embarrassing when no-one could hear the Captain over the loudspeaker for her screaming! :rolleyes1 Fortunately, 10 mins into take off she zonked!

Welcome back :goodvibes glad you enjoyed it but I can understand where you're coming from with your children not being there. :goodvibes

Welcome back :)

Definitely do, because we were seated next to a couple of 3 yr olds who had a portable DVD player and were watching The Wiggles or Dora the Explorer for 3 hours, when they weren't climbing over the seat onto their mothers' laps - oh how amusing that was - or jumping off the tray tables onto the aisle. Mental note - tell Eurostar their tray tables actually bend rather alarmingly when a 3 yr old stands on them.
There was also a poor baby of 9 months or so in front of us who desperately wanted to sleep but didn't want to admit defeat. Him, I didn't mind, but 3 hours of The Wiggles nearly drove me out of my mind.

hey Cathy welcome back, which coach were you in going out? I think we were sat opposite you...
