We arrived at the Newport Bay hotel, after our drive from Brussels, at about 5:00pm. There was no line at check-in and we recieved our room upon check-in. I upgraded to the Admiral's Foor at check-in for an additional 12 euro per night. I may have missed something, but I don't know what was **special** about the Admiral's Floor. We checked out our room, which was a standard hotel room, but clean and at Disneyland!! We dropped off our bags, changed the baby's diaper and headed for the Disneyland Park!

I have to say that the security at the gate is more for appearances than anything else. The first day I opened my bag all the way and they didn't even bother to look in. The second day I put in on the table with the zipper barely open and they didn't even look in. The third day I left it on the stroller and they glanced at it and waved me through. :confused3 I don't understand why they even bother....

Upon entering the park it felt like home. You know that feeling of comfort and happiness...it was wonderful! I have to say that the theming throughout the park is AMAZING! Around every corner there was something to see. I loved seeing how they saw where things could be improved at the other Disney parks, and they implemented a better alternative at DLP. The best example of this is the Royal Castle Stage. I can't tell you how many times I have been caught in a mob of people watching a show in front of the castle at WDW. It was so nice to see there is a separate area, with seating no less! OOh, and I loved the dragon under the castle, that was great! My 4y/o DS was terrified, even after we told him it wasn't real! We did miss a couple of our favorite WDW rides - Goofy's Barnstormer and Mickey's Philharmagic. I was surprised that there isn't a "kiddie coaster" at DLP, something similar to Goofy's Barnstormer. But we were thrilled to find Buzz, the race cars, the tea cups, POTC, SM2... My son even has some new favorites: Alice's Labyrinth and Pirates' Beach. Oh, and I enjoyed the differnt version of IASW! Although I was surpirsed that the U.S. scene still has the twin towers of the world trade center...that caught me off guard to see. Oh and the Lion King show was fantastic!!

We had some wonderful meals as well. Out first night we ate at Blue Lagoon. I feel silly admitting this, but I actually thought we were sitting outside!! LOL! I chaulk it up to the long car ride from Belgium we had just finished! Both my husband and I had items from the fixed menu and we enjoyed our meal. My son's sausage dish, however, was quite unappetizing! The next afternoon we had lunch at Auberge de Cendrillon, again we were happy with the meal. We had dinner at our hotel on two nights. Once at the Yacht Club - which was our FAVORITE meal we had while at DLP, and one night at the Cape Cod - which I will pass on the time. For a buffet called "Cape Cod" I was just expecting much more seafood offerings...I was just caught off guard. We also had breakfast at Cafe Mickey's on Sunday morning. We were one of only 4 tables that had guests! Needless to say there was a ton of character interaction! Both of my sons enjoyed it.

Despite the freezing temperatures and the long lines, we had a blast and can't wait to go back.

Glad you had a great time. It is really lovely in the park, I think it is by far the prettiest of them.

Sounds like you really enjoyed DLP :thumbsup2 And you tried a good variety of restaurants - if you get the time, please feel free to add your opinion of them to the Restaurant reviews! :)

We have the Casey Jr Circus train, which is a great little coaster, but isn't always open :sad2:

Glad you enjoyed it. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
