Hi all
Well we are back from our christmas trip 23rd - 27th and had a fab time
The kids loved it which made it for us.
We did like all the decorations but its a shame they dont do them throughout. We found the queues/crowds bearable, saying that I did notice that Space Mountain had a wait time of 120 minutes Boxing Day and Crush was 70 minutes when we went to the Studios, eek!
I probably wont have time to do a full trippie but will say the positives for us were the character interactions especially at the hotel as they were everywhere! I definately recommend going at 4pm to see them as they spent ages at the hotel.I loved the parades as usual and Mickeys Winter Wonderland show was lovely
We had a great meal at the Rainforest Cafe, hubby was very impressed too, the food was lovely, our waiter was very attentive and made a fuss of the kids, loved the theming, a very relaxing meal.
We had christmas dinner at Cafe Mickey, we were there quite early, 12.30pm which worked out well as it was so quiet so we got lots of attention from the characters before it got busy ( Mickey, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, King John, Chip, Dale, Scrooge McDuck) only downside was the food wasnt great and our waiter was miserable, dont think he wanted to be there Christmas Day!
Another highlight was my daughter meeting Ariel and for us to go on rides/shows we havent done/seen before. We made use of the EMH which worked out really well, I definately recommend the EMH.
The Disneyland Hotel was lovely, friendly staff, clean, a huge selection for breakfast, lots of characters and location great, but myself and hubby did both think that the money we paid we were hoping for a bit more with the room, certain things did seem cheap and comparing to the NY we didnt think we were getting any more for our money, but I suppose you are paying for the location.
Downsides to the trip were some rude ignorant people, had at least 4 episodes but wont dwell on that as once I start I probably wont stop!
We also booked the Lucky Nugget for the tea party boxing day....OMG....put it this way my husband is one of the most laid back people there is and he went and demanded our money back, and got it! It was a scrum to get in, a scrum to get to the food, no food actually left and no one replacing the food, the place was hot and crammed, what characters were there were getting mobbed, not a nice experiences at all I felt stressed so we got our refund and left!
Anyway, on the whole we had a great trip, we did everything we wanted to do and glad we have experienced Christmas and the Disneyland Hotel. The kids loved it, my little girl was crying when we were leaving, bless her.
The kids want to go back for 209 sleeps next time so they told us lol! Im going to price up for the end of the August for the Newport/Sequoia I dont think we can afford 209 sleeps, so maybe just the 4!
Thanks for reading, this was just going to be a short post! lol
