Just wanted to take a break from unpacking and take a moment to say thank you to all who give advice, pass on information and help all of us newbies. We had a perfectly relaxing time while visiting a theme park!! I didn't think it was possible!! No running around crazy, waiting in long lines, checking lists of what to see in what order to make sure you do/see all that you want. Stay on-site, kick back and feel like a celebrity whisked onto the rides!!! Honestly, in our 5 days there the longest line we waited in was for Shrek and that was 15 minutes!! The Mummy had a standby time of 90 minutes and within 15 minutes both my DH and I had ridden and taken the time to do child swap!! Absolutely awesome!
I am forever grateful to all that take the time to offer their advice!!

There are two "negatives" that I experienced during our stay.
1) You will get a guilt trip at some point passing the people who are hot and sweaty waiting in the standby line.
2) My husband wants to know how to do WDW for the 5 of us, for 5 days, with the same relaxed pace, and at the same grand total of just less than $1800.00 which includes every dime that came out of our pocket during our stay. He claims he will never go there again unless I can pull that one off. I can meet that request budget wise but the relaxed pace at WDW I have never found.

Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart and wallet!

I got over that VERY quickly. After all, they had the option of booking an on-site hotel or getting an express pass.

The relaxed pace thing at Disney would be to visit in February, or late August.
February, people are still paying Christmas bills, and just forget the parks are open.
Late August, the kids have gone back to school.

Check out Steve Barrett's "The Hassle-Free Walt Disney World Vacation" (Amazon, etc.)

His touring plans are the next best thing to FOTL.

Glad to hear you had a great time. Don't feel guilty. You paid the extra cash to stay in the hotel and they had the same option. They didn't, you did, enjoy the benefits. Besides, you don't need to watch them stare at you, just look the other way as you zip on by them once, twice, three times even.:p

Not in the least!
We've done it both ways, staying onsite and off and I figure that's the PRIME reason to pay the extra bucks for a Universal hotel.

My DH feels the same way yours does! Our family of 5 can do a week at USF for much much less money than a Disney trip would cost! Glad to hear you had a good time!

kellymonaghan,
Thanks for the info on Steve Barrett's book. I will look for it as our next trip will be to WDW and any help to make it even near as relaxing as this past trip will be much appreciated by my DH ( and myself) ;) .
