Back from Florida! We had a good trip, although the weather could have been a bit warmer/less rainy for my liking! Of course, anything is better than the 15 cm of snow we are receiving here today!
Highlights of the trip -

Chef Mickeys -- We kept saying we would not do this because of the expense, but we really enjoyed it. It worked out to $94 for our family of five, which seems like a lot for the meal, but we all enjoyed the food and the kids LOVED the entertainment so it was worth it! The characters came to our table about three times, so the kids were just thrilled. A bonus is as we arrived for Chef Mickeys meal (after a day at Disney-MGM) the fireworks were just starting at the MK, so we sat in the car and watched fireworks.

Universal -- Enjoyed it immensely. DS, 4, could have lived at Seuss Landing! He rode Cat in the Hat 12 times! About eight of them were in a row. We were really spoiled at IOA and UO because there were no crowds. I loved it! We just walked on the rides. I walked right on Mummy, ET, Cat in the Hat, Duelling Dragons, Unicorn, and Jurassic Park etc. The only waits were Shrek and Pteradon Flyers - which we did twice and loved! I liked the theming at IOA a lot. Did NOT like Back to the Future - felt sick from the moment the operator said is anyone claustrophobic? Well
now that you mention it... Anyway, felt pretty sick on Back to the Future. This is one pet peeve with Universal. They have all these signs about motion sickness on practically every ride. Well, I hate to break it to them, but motion sickness on Cat in the Hat and Back to the Future are two different things!!!! I also enjoyed Jaws, Mummy, Men in Black and I survived Duelling Dragons. Did not like Spiderman - felt a bit queasy. Got soaked on Popeye, despite wearing my Dollarama poncho!

Disney - MK was busy, even though when I talked to a CM, he said this is not busy. It was a wait of 45 minutes for Pooh (we did FP) and also for Peter Pan (we did FP) Did not enjoy Stitch. The seats confine you with these holsters, like if you are on a roller coaster, but you are locked in a room. Sit tall when they come down so it doesnt confine you too much. The kids really liked the Carousel of Progress. We didnt do that last time, and they keep singing that song now. We also did MGM right this time. Last time we just whizzed through it in about three hours. This year we spent the day and enjoyed the shows. Indiana Jones was great, as was Mermaid, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the backlot tour, Great Movie Ride, RockinRoller Coaster etc.

Weather -- Not the best, but it looks like the same for this week. When we arrived it was in the 80s and sunny. We went to the pool immediately. The next day it was about 78 and sunny, so it was a pool day. The next day they called for thunderstorms and rain. We had planned on going to IOA, but decided to do UO instead, and that was good. It actually only drizzled about 3 p.m. for an hour or so and we had our rain jackets so we were ready. I was amazed at the number of people who had not brought rain jackets to the park but bought ponchos, because they were calling for like 70 percent chance of showers that day. Next day nice weather - chance of rain which did not materialize - low 70s. Park Day. Next day DOWNPOURS and even tornados south of us! Shopping day. The next week we had weather in 60s until Sat when it was about 73 and we spent the day at the pool. The weather was good for doing the parks when it was 65 or so. There were basically two big rain days, but on one of those the rain let up enough at night we were able to enjoy Fantasmic, and the place was only half full.

So -- good trip. Now it is back to work, the real world and eating sensibly! We ate tons of food, but that is all part of the fun! Im going to do a trip report on the Universal and Disney Trip Reports boards too.
