We had an awsome 10 days in disney. We just loved the Orlandge Lake Country Club. We ended up in the East Village and just drove over to the North Village where the big pool was. I had to use that pool becuase ds needs zero entry to have fun. We felt the atmosphere there was a lot of fun. We even watched a movie and played mini golf. The kids had a blast. There was so much to do on property that were sad we didn't have time to take advantage of it all. We had a great view of the golf course and a little pond with ducks, and we especially loved having our own parking space and walkway to our room. There were plenty of towels and they gave us dish soap and laundry soap and extra paper towels, garbage bags, t paper, etc. It was perfect. The Best Western was just okay. We didnt like the atmosphere and the pool is just plain. The bus transportation was awful, and we could never find a parking space. Its good for just a couple of nights and since I only paid 32 per night (priceline) it was definatley worth the money, BUT I would certainly not ever pay rack rates to stay there. I would love to answer questions so if there is anything I can help with just let mw know and I will do my best!

I took a time share tour at Orange Lakes, and I thought it was a wonderful place! I would have thought about buying it had it been closer to Disney. It isn't so far from Animal Kingdom, however.

Thanks for the review, NHBelle! :D We are going to OLCC in Dec. are are really excited--more so after reading your review! Glad to hear you had so much fun at the resort. Did they have scheduled activities for kids, and if so, do you remember what kind of things? Do they have an evening child care center...something along the lines of the Disney kids' clubs? Not sure we would take advantage of such a service, but I'd like to know if it's available.

Thank you!

Glad you had a great time. We loved OLCC, too! I have read a lot of posts since our trip in Feb 2002 but no one has mentioned the shuttle on site to transport you around the resort. I was wondering if they still have it? With 3 little ones, we really enjoyed not having to use our car.

I am interested after reading the favorable comments. How did you go about getting your rates? Is it weekly only or can you get shorter stays?

Any reservation ideas would be appreciated. Early November is the time frame.

They do have a resort shuttle, which is great because there are so many pools and activities and the resort is just so huge. Also, the activities are planned and you will get a schedule at check in. They had things like bingo, arts and crafts, volley ball, tube races, slippen slide races, campfire sing along, quiz night, limbo, hula, kids check in. There were so many. I don't think they had a kids club though (at least I didn't see anything of that nature.) It is a great resort!

I just got back from OLCC, too (wow, what a place!). We also stayed in the new East Village section (unit 86834), right next to the pool. That pool is also zero depth.

Tip for future guests: Your dish towels and pot holders are out on the counter when you arrive. The dish cloth (a disposable Handy Wipe-type) is in the package of supplies (toilet paper, etc). You ahve to look for it, as it is wrapped up w/ the trash bags, etc. We bought some cloths at the Publix, and I found the one in the package Saturday morning as we were packing up to come home - LOL! BTW, we had dishwasher and laundry detergent, but no dishwashing liquid. You might want to pack some in a squeeze bottle and bring it with you.

WDWisTheBest,

A few of us going to OLCC have been lucky enough to win bids on Sky Auction for our stay. If you do a search on the Sky Auction website for "orange" in USA/Canada you'll come up with any current auctions for OLCC. The auctions are for one week time periods. You could check out early, but you would pay for the full week anyway. We are averaging $48 per night for 14 nights (we won 2 separate auctions).

Straitlover,

Thank you for the tips! Glad to hear you had a great trip and that you enjoyed OLCC!
