Me:40-DH:48 DD:8(DS:18 stayed home;work & college)
Everything went really well. Checked into BWV at around 11am, room not ready but no biggie, we were planning to do the food & wine festival for lunch anyway, and we were hungry! Walked to epcot and quickly hit the first booth we came to for some food and beer. Very good stuff, some of my favorites from last year were not there,but they had some new booths that looked good, unfortunately you can't try it all in one fell swoop.I though Epcot was very crowded- I guess everyone had the same idea as us. Went to guest relations to change out a MNSSHP ticket (sent us one with the wrong date!) Got a fp to TT which we never wound up using-did spaceship earth, did malestrom, maybe 10 min wait, posted time was 35. DD was bugging us to leave- she was so excited to go to MNSSHP. So we did the country loop and sampled some stuff from a few more places, then took the boat back to BWV(one was there waiting, otherwise we would have walked)
By now it was around 3:30 and our room was ready, so we hung out and vegged for a while. Then we put on our costumes, me & DH had on our usual star trek, DD was cleopatra, and not to brag, but she looked amazing. I got the costume from lillian vernon and it was absolutely gorgeous. We left our room about 6:20 and as we approached the bus stop, a bus pulled up. Perfect. It was packed with costumed folks, and when the driver announced we were heading to MNSSHP, everyone on the bus cheered. The mood was set. My dd was so excited and glowing in her costume.
This is the first time we did MNSSHP, and it was awesome. I felt crowds were minimal. As we were walking in the park and day guests were exiting, people were stopping DD & asking to take her picture! It made her feel so special, I could tell. The park is so spooky in a fun way, we were ushered in the tomorrow land direction, so having no plan, we just went with it, which turned out good cause we were like first in line for a family photo. Then we walked on astro orbiter. In the hundred times I've been to MK, I don't think I've every been on that, but lines were non existant. Did buzz and indy speedway, and just kept going, Every ride was a walkon. Trick or treated at various spots and saw parade at 8:30. Absolutely adorable.
Around 9:00, DD needed food & to sit & rest badly, so we stopped at the pinocchio place and grabbed a bite. We were supposed to try & meet some other DIS folk at buzz at 9:30 , but by the time we made it over there it was 9:50, and we couldn't find anyone. Sorry, guys!!!!!We road HM a couple more times, DD was getting tired & so was I,with the daylight savings thing, it made for a long day. So we headed towards main street to leave. My only dissappointment had been we hadn't seen the headless horseman, but as luck would have it, as we got by the firehouse, he came charging out right in front of us. How cool was that!!!!
A bus picked us up within a minute of reaching the stop. Transportation this trip was great. The bus was full of sleeping, tuckered out children in costumes, it was so cute. We were asleep by 11:30, totally wiped. Fun, fun fun!!!
Today we had a nice breakfast at spoodles, did a little swimming, and we were home by 1pm. We were away just over 24 hrs, but it seemed much longer. I would recommend MNSSHP, it was great. Especially with the crowds so low, I guess Sunday is a good night to go.
