We just got back yesterday and had a great time. We got the WELCOME HOME and have a magical day every time we entered OKW or made a phone call. There was a lady at the gate several times named Debbie and she was very nice. We had warm weather most days with afternoon showers. It never stopped us from going anywhere. The parks were very slow except MK. It was more crowded but still not bad. We stayed in a GV number 6323. It was clean but had a few repair problems. The washer wasn't working very well and found out we could only wash 2 or 3 towels at a time to get it to spin. It took a lot more time to wash. The coffee pot leaked water so we make our coffee as we needed it and not the night before. Over all the GV was fine just with a few minor problems. We found nothing really lacking this trip with any cut backs. Some of the food places were not open in the parks but that was due to the time of year. Everything was just as last year and we found service as good as always. If Disney is trying to save money, I didn't see it. Can't wait till next year and another magical trip. Forgot to add that we went on an Illumination cruise. It was very nice and special. Everyone loved it and will probably try again next years.

Merilyn,

Thanks for the report. I'm glad you had a great time and didn't sweat the small stuff. I can't wait to try a GV sometime and OKW is always awesome.

Merilyn, good to hear all went well even with the few minor inconvenience. But that's surprising because building 63 is less than 5 years old. We have less than 54 days until we once again have the relaxation of Home at OKW.

Were the wait times in the MK more than 30 minutes or was it just on the weekends (with the locals)?

On our way home we always start planning (sometimes before we leave) the next MAGICAL trip home.

Good trip report. We were in building 64 last month and our main complaint was the low wattage of the lights. I find the appliances take quite a beating at Disney. I usually call housekeeping or maintanance. They always correct it imediately. That is the only way they know if things are not working.

Thanks for the report. As you can see, we'll be on our way soon. We've not stayed at OKW before and are looking forward to trying it out. It is one of the things DH loves about DVC, the ability to try different places.

Glad you had a good time.

We have stayed at all the DVC resorts except HHI..whenever we have ahad a problem with coffee pots, lighting ,anything we call maintence and they come almost immeditaly.they fix it and are on their way..Iwould not have stayed in that villa if the washing machine was not working..were may people with you in the GV? JUST CALL THEM WHENEVER YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND THEY WILL COME & FIX IT,THEY WON'T KNOW UNLESS YOU TELL THEM..MARIANNE

LOL..we were in that same GV in August, and I just thought it was how front loading washers worked. What do I know? I buy the cheap top-loading variety. :)

Was the dryer still sitting out in the middle of the laundry area? When we were there, the new dryer had just been brought in. Unfortunately, the laundry area was built with a large shelf/folding area over the washer and dryer, but this dryer had the controls on the top/back of the machine, rather than on the front. It was too tall to fit in the spot. It was a little inconvenient, but my GV was ready at *9am* and I sure didn't want to move just because I had to bend a little awkwardly to pull the dry clothes out!

I loved that location. It was a bit close to the road, but we didn't hear a thing inside. This was the first time traveling with these in-laws since the family trip to Lebanon (the country, not the town in NH), and it was quite a different experience. :)

Thanks for your report on your stay at OKW - glad to know you heard "Welcome Home" several times :)!

If at any time during a DVC stay, one finds a housekeeping or engineering concern/problem, then you should definitely call & let a CM know about it.

We did call for help with the washer, in fact, we called 2 times. They came to work on it while we were out. They loaded it full and left thinking it was working. When we came back we had wet towels. We figured out it could only wash 2 or 3 towels at a time. It wasn't that much of a problem but we had 10 staying so we washed a lot. Forgot to add the new places we ate. We tried the Canada place with the cheese soup. I had heard about it on this site. It was great and the bread was to die for. I could have made a meal on just the soup and bread. We also tried Boma's. I wasn't very happy with the spicey food but the prime rib was very good. I don't think we will try them again. We went to Primetime Cafe again and it was still good. They no longer have hamburgers though. Over all the food was good and about the prices we expected. The dryer was not in the middle of the floor as wdwsos stated. They had removed the shelf and moved the dryer back. We also love the location and will probably ask for it everytime we go.

That's what we said after our first trip and staying at Miller's Road buildng 19. Then we stayed at South Point, and decided THAT was our favorite. We were in 64 this time, and now I KNOW the other two are favored by us over that building. The point I am trying to make, is don't limit yourself, because you may find there are others even more to your liking.
