I just got back from my first trip to Disneyland on Sunday, and I had a great time! The weather could've been a little better on Friday, but overall it was still a lot of fun. I enjoyed doing some of the attractions that Disney World doesn't have. I have to say that Soarin' Over California was AWESOME!!!!! I'm glad I finally got the chance to visit the original park. :D :D

Glad to hear that you had fun! I agree that Soarin Over California is really an awesome ride. Did you go on California Screamin'? My DW isn't into roller coasters that much but she liked that one. BTW, where did you stay? Also, how were the crowds? Just wondering... Since you had a great time, I guess there would be a return trip for you in the future, right?

Yes, I surprised myself and went on California Screamin'. :earseek: I wasn't going to at first, but then I decided to go on it. It was pretty fun. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn, which was pretty much right across the street from Disneyland. The crowds actually weren't all that bad- we were able to do a lot of the big attractions in less time than we thought. I'd like to go back sometime, especially since my one sister stayed home and she has yet to see DL!

Very cool! By the looks of your signature, we'll be at WDW right around the same time as you! Hope to see you there!

Glad you had such a good time. California Screamin' is one of my fave rollercoasters - it's so smooth and nice & long. :)

How'd you like the Fairfield Inn? Would you stay there again?

lap3- Yup, it looks like we will be in Disney World around the same time. Can March get here soon enough? LOL.

Mary Jo- The Fairfield Inn was nice. It was definitely easy to get to the parks from there. I'd stay there again. :D

did you get a chance to ride the holiday makeovers of HM and IASM? What did you think?

Yup, we did both the holiday versions of Haunted Mansion and It's A Small World. I liked them both a lot. I didn't expect them to be so elaborate though!!

Given that you are a "WDW girl" what was your overall impression of DL? Of course, you hear of so many that are disappointed with DL after being at WDW. How much time would you suggest to invest in the two parks?

I liked Disneyland!! I will admit that I was afraid I would be disappointed after having been to Disney World so many times, but I wasn't disappointed at all. The whole setup of Disneyland was a lot different than Disney World (like how everything is so much closer together, but I knew it was going to be like that) but I definitely enjoyed being there. Since the main reason we were in California was the Rose Bowl, we were only in Disneyland for 2 days, so we didn't get to do everything of course (however we did get to do a majority of the things we wanted to). I guess I'd say maybe a couple days for each park would be a good amount of time.

Soarin' over Californina is actually my wife's favorite ride at DL. We can't wait until they open it up in the Land at EPCOT. That way we can enjoy it either place. California Screamin' is one of my favorites each visit...right behind Indiana Jones. :moped:

Same here...I'm looking forward to them opening it at Epcot too. That way my sister can see what it's like. :D

Glad you had such a good time. It's always fun to take someone who's spent alot of time at WDW to DL or vice versa. In '03 I got to take a very close friend to DL, she's a big time WDW girl and she had a blast! She did get off of POTC saying "THAT was awesome" :earboy2:

Yes, Pirates of the Caribbean was one of the attractions that I found was a LOT better in Disneyland than in WDW.
