Well, we flew into Orlando at approx. 3:30 p.m. on June 12th. Great flight and an even better experience with the Magical Express. Came down to baggage claim and a lady was there directing us to the proper location of the terminal for the ME desk. We got there and one person from the party checked us in at the desk. We entered the "red carpet" area and got in line. 10 minutes later we were lead to our bus. Another 15 minutes after that and we were off!
We stayed at POFQ and our ride from the airport to the resort was very easy! We had one stop before POFQ and I can't remember where, but our total trip time was like 45 minutes. Very easy ride and the bus was awesome!!
POFQ was fantastic. We had a great location on the opposite side of the pool view in building #2. A 5 minute walk to the main building and 7-8 minutes to the bus stop. Our room was very clean, Mousekeeping was fantastic and actually didn't clean the room a couple days due to us being in it for a nap. She was so kind to leave towels on the door. The hotel wasn't too crowded and the pool was very cosey and not overcrowded.
The Foodcourt at the hotel was nice, but the food got old towards the end of our stay. Especially for my picky DW. I will say, the ice cream sandwich is a must...and we had 4 or 5 while we were there.
I traveled with my DW, DD 2 1/2, father and mother. We got 7 day park hopper passes and hit all parks twice at least. A couple things I realized. MK is crazy on extra late magic hours!! AK is dead in the afternoon and very easy to get into everything. Same goes for HS as long as it's not Star Wars Weekends. If it is, then it's crazy!!! We enjoyed EPCOT too as it was not busy early in the week when we went.
If you want to meet characters, EPCOT is the place to do it as long as it's not an extra magic hour day.
We had three character meals. Donald's Breakfast at Tusker House (AK) was phenominal. The characters were great and the food was fantastic. This was well worth the money even though we didn't eat our money's worth.
Our second meal was Chef Mickey's. This is all about the characters. The food alone wasn't worth half what we paid, but the characters made of for it. The Prime Rib I was soooo looking forward to was VERY dry. They had some great pasta options for non-meat eaters and the potatoes were awesome! I'd give this a 3 out of 5 stars...
Our final character meal was breakfast at Askershus Hall with the princesses. We arrived early and were asked if we wanted to be seated early. Heck yeah!!! The food was good, but the princesses interaction with my DD was fantastic. She was in awe and actually only had a piece of bacon and part of a muffin. This was a great meal and wasn't even full. A good alternative to CRT if you can't get in.
Most other meals were at counter service locations with your typical burger, chicken strips, etc.
A great trip and one more thing I have to add... TourGuideMike is a must. He saved us in line waits and only once did we wait for 30 minutes and it was because my daughter was persistant that she wanted to ride a ride. Follow TGM and you'll be set!
