Well here is my report on our Disney stay

First the hotel

Pro's
Nice and cheap
Clean
Close to Disney Centre and free use of shuttle bus
Plenty to eat for breakfast and no one says anything about you wrapping extra bread and chocolate croissants up for the park
Free internet connection in room and reception

Cons
3pm check really is 3pm so remember if you get there early there is not much to do
Bar is pretty expensive
Weekends the restaurant for breakfast is very very busy almost putting you off

We arrived Friday a little early as we had been in Paris on my husband’s business trip so combined both. We weren’t able to check in but they do have a secure luggage area so we put everything in there and headed off to the Disney Village.

We had a good wander around the shops soaking up the atmosphere and it was soooo busy, there was the rugby on PLUS a Jet Ski tournament on the water facing Newport Bay so we watched that for a while the boys were mesmerized at the speed LOL

We then had dinner in the sports Bar roughly for all 4 of us it was 65 Euros not so bad

Saturday after the busy breakfast we hit the studio as Toby loves lightening McQueen so we had to do that. First there is a queue for security which in the morning can be quite lengthy THEN you hit the queue to get in again lengthy. Luckily only a 30 min wait for the ride but things soon got very busy and most rides was an hour wait and with two little ones who won’t wait it was a bit tiresome lol

The parade (high school one) came past at 1 ish and OMG how people push and shove you right out of the way to get their little ones in front, felt like those pushy parents at the pageants? lol

Luckily my hubby is dutch and as rude so we still got in front :cool1: . Tobias got to have his picture taken with Sully as he loves monsters inc and that made his day :cool1:

We left the park earlish as it was too busy and boys were cranky but we did see a lot and hubby managed to do a couple of things

We came back to the village to Annette’s for dinner and again it was about 60 euro and was delish I had fish and chips which I miss from home lol

SUNDAY we did the park, the weather was awesome and Toby did the carousel and the teacups in fact he did all the little stuff without too much of a wait perhaps 30 mins max we headed over to Space mountain but the wait was 90 mins and even the fast pass queue was huge so not sure how that works if you have a pass it seems you still have to queue a while?

We went back to the hotel at 2 and let the boys have a sleep and came back at 5 and had a MacDonald’s lol and then to the studio's for lightening again lol and then hit the park to see the dance at 8.30 with all the characters it was fab and even though the park was very busy the atmosphere was fab and hubby got to do a few big rides

All in all we had a super time but the 2 day pass wasn’t enough because of the time hanging about we still didn’t see everything

I would stay at the same hotel again myself but my husband said he would try one with a few more facilities onsite as there isn’t much to do once you come back to the hotel

Sounds like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing :)

NB. You'll be able to link your photographs once your post count is a little higher ;) Send me a PM if you need any help :)

Lovely photos, thanks for sharing. You were unlucky you couldn't check in till 3pm as when I stayed at the Kyriad in June we got there before 3pm and was allowed to check in as our room was ready.

Sounds like a brilliant trip! Love the photos. Thats cool about Sully, he's a fantastic character, i really hope i can meet him too when i go.

luv

looked like you had a fab time shame about the 3pm check in i have stayed at the kyriad twice before and they let us check in at 12.30-1pm despite the 3pm check in time we also had ....maybe they have changed and are enforcing check in times now or maybe we were just lucky i guess, loved all your photos too looked like you had better weather than we had in June as i see blue sky in your pics LOL

Hi there,

I went with a bus tour and was able to be checked in in the morning
so there are possibilities to check in, perhaps, if you are in a group. Most
hotels have the policy of check in after 3 pm, anyways. It's common for europe.

If you happen to read this and live in Sweden, I can suggest taking the bus with Ölvemarks Holiday, since everything is included in a package deal, with a two day pass, 4 nights at hotel Kyriad, and the bus trip. You can also add some sightseeing tours arranged by the bus company, as well.

The breakfast served at the hotel has great variety, as well. I thought, too, that the transfer with the buses went well. too. Breakfast in included in the basic price, as well.

A tip: if you wait until last minute (2-3 weeks), before departure, there's a chance to get half priced deals on the package. The trips run from April to October, just before Halloween. The other opton is to book early, when there are discounts, starting in November.

I hope to return back there next year or in 2009!:dance3:
