Just got back from HHI for 5 nights. Had a great time. The beach was great, and so was the weather. My brother and his wife went with us and we had a 2 bedroom. We played golf 2 times, one at Island West and the other at Indigo Run. Had great weather, and the golf went well too!!!! Shot in the 90's, so it was good for me!! Went to Kingfisher's and was DISAPOINTED!! The room was hot, and IMHO, the menu was real LIMITED! No maui-maui, no flonder on the menu, and NO SALAD with your meal! I thought the last time there it was good, 2 years ago, but this time I thought it was not. The service was only meidocore to say the least. Don't let this be a downer, it was not, just a bad choice. Went to Longhorn one night, and went to Salty Dog Cafe the next night-very fun place!! Went to play goofy golf, and went swimming in the pools of course! All and all a great time (as usual),at HHI.

P.S. I called my guide for a POSSIBLE add-on at HHI, and there is April use points left for HHI. He said Not a lot, but enough for add ons. Just thought you ought to know.
Any questions? E mail me about HHI.
LOVE this place!

We haven't been to Harbour town for a long time.
I have heard that now they have you park and take a tram to the light house.

Since DH uses a power wheelchair was wondering if it is accessible or they would let us drive on down. I recall trying to find a place to park in the past was close to impossible!

Has anyone been recently? We are heading down next week!

We recently returned from HH and you can still drive yourself to Harbortown. There is an option just past the Sea Pines toll station where you can park your car and ride a free shuttle. I don't know if is equipped for w/c access or not. We went mid morning and had no problem finding a place to park at Harbortown. We also returned later in the afternoon so that we could listen to Greg Russell and again we were able to find a parking space around 4 PM. Ate dinner at Harbormaster II and listened to the performance. Parking has expanded since the last time we were there but that was 10 years ago. Even if you decide to use the free shuttle, you still have to pay the $5 car admission fee as the shuttle is on the other side of the toll stop.

Our first trip to HHI will be in august, what is there to do at the resort?

We are stopping there on the way back from WDW so we are trying to take it easy. With a 3 and 12 year old it won't be easy.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
TIA

My son has always preferred HH to WDW!
He loves to bike ride, fish, crab, rollerblade, and swim. When he was younger he used to build sand structures and we would have a fleet of trucks in the van! I remember one little boy who had flown in was so jealous until Chris encouraged him to join him! As an only child, Chris loved the company and they had a great time together!

The resort plans activities for kids that range from beach activities, painting, games, campfires, etc Some have fees but some are free as well. The dolphin trips are great too. They usually have kids nights out for pizza and a movie which was always a highlight! Nestled throughout the resort are hammocks, horse shoe pits, a playground, etc

The marina and shops are next door and they offer places to walk to-- also have a playground over there for the little one.
So lots of things to do in a very relaxing environment!

We will be there next week!

We visited Harbour Town recently and found it tough to park. The lots close by were loaded even though the lots near the gate were empty. I think you could manage with a powered wheel chair as long as you can park in the lots right in harbor town. Have a good vacation!
