Hey all,
Just wanted to post a quick review of our recent stay at the HRH.
Stayed from 30th Sep-5th Oct. ($140 per night) Checked in around 11am, room ready
showed the all access card i got free thanks to a tip on here and got a pool view instead of standard
We were on the ground level, right down the end by a fire escape door which led right to where the gate is by the pool to walk to the parks. Think this may have been where the dog friendly rooms were? I only saw one dog the whole stay though! Loved this location for the walk to the parks.
Absolutely loved the hotel, loved the loud music all day and night. All the staff were great, friendly and fun. Only thing we didn't like was they had a pool party i think on the sunday, and it was rubbish club / dance music; I came to the hard rock for rock music! but nevermind, it wasn't that bad
oh and one more thing i didnt like were the cost of the cocktails by the pool! Paid $20 for one drink!! Never again, lol. My fault though, didnt say whether i wanted a souvenier glass or not so got one.. then i guess they add 18% service charge so the total was $16 something, so i gave her a $20 and never got any change or a receipt. Didn't want to go and ask for the change
So i would suggest drinking elsewhere!
Went to HHN on out first night there, enjoyed this, wasn't nearly as busy as i expected, did all the houses, the scarezones and went on all 4 rides that were open. Longest queue was 20 mins. Didn't think it was quite as scary as when i last went in 2006 but still had a great time! 2 of our friends stayed the night in our room after this, which we didn't declare - suppose we should have and paid extra but no one noticed a thing
I had read about not using the mini bar as a fridge and getting charged for moving things around but we didnt have a problem, but about 3 -4 beers and some dr pepper cans in there and there was no issues/nothing on the bill.
Had some great meals, margravitavile was brilliant! the entertainer was sooo funny and the nachos were amazing!! HUGE though between the 2 of us. Needless to say i couldn't finish my main meal! Hard Rock Cafe was also a great meal.
Went to see a heavy metal gig at hard rock live, (megadeth/slayer/anthrax) the OH's choice, not my sort of thing but still really enjoyed it - what a great venue, much smaller than i thought but a great atmosphere.
Queues were pretty non exsistent on the thursday we arrived (were with friends so didnt use our fotl) 5 minutes wait everywhere except of course WWOHP.
Loved WWOHP but as everyone else says it is small and cramped.. but i kinda thing this adds to the magic
. Only went in the hour early once and it was definatley worth it, went on FJ twice, walked straight through pretty much, stopping to admire all the sights in the queue. LOVED the ride. OH wasn't as blown away as me but then hes not a huge potter fan like me!
I actually screamed at the dementors lol!
Sorry.. got a bit carried away, was only supposed to be talking about the hotel. But all in all a fantastic stay, so much that the OH has said we have to stay at the HRH every time we come to Orlando!
Any questions please ask
