Just wanted to share with u all what a great experience my bf and i had onsite in universal last week. We stayed one night in HRH and one night in RPR and the service we had at both was OUTSTANDING. Hands down, 10 times better than we have ever received at Disney! (and i have no complaints about disney service either-thats how good it was!) The staff at both hotels are sooooo friendly, always saying hello, how are you, etc whenever you walk past, just simple things like this made the stay extra special.
We were lucky enough to get a newly refurbished room in HRH, i simply asked at check in for a high floor and we got one! Here's a couple of pics;
Beautiful room, number 6103. the view was of the gardens/water docking area and it was not far from the elevators. I have more pics so if anyone wants to see let me know.
Our 2nd night was at RPR, well i didnt think it could get any better (oh yeah, the HRH got someone to drive us to RPR - v impressed with this!) but the staff here were great too, lady at check in was lovely! showed lowels card and she upgraded us to pool view (and it was a park view too!) and we opted for the 'suprise gift' which was great! jars of nuts, bottles of water in an ice bucket, RPR disposable camera, the big chunky beads the staff wear, sweets and more!!
Here's a few pics, first our fantastic view!
The lovely kingsized bed;
and our 'suprise gift';
So all in all we had a fantastic stay onsite at universal for the first time and are definatley going to split disney and universal 50/50 in future trips! if not more in universals favour!
p.s. HHN is AMAZING! The best thing we did all trip! (we went on opening night and boy did we need our express passes - which were incidently sold out when we tried to purchase them in the park on the day of, but the royal pacific concierge managed to get us some! 10/10 service!!!)
I like this pic my bf snapped of the 360 show thing although the show itself wasnt the best IMHO. We had never been to HHN before and just thought it was great! But pretty darn scary! Without express pass there was NO chance of seeing all the houses and shows, but this was opening night. We just about managed to fit it all in, all 7 houses, bill and ted, the 360 thing and we also went on shrek (for some light hearted relief!) and saw beetlejuice as we always seem to miss this in normal park hours!
one last pic;
p.p.s sorry if this turned into a mini trip report - i tend to waffle a bit!
