Back from DLP

Hello, we're just back from another fantastic trip. Six of us went this time, us and DS, 6 as well as my parents and 10yr old nephew. The boys had great fun together - probably one of the highlights being Buffalo Bills which the boys loved, waving their hats and cheering.

We had connecting rooms in the DLH which were fantastic. They were ground floor on the Fantasia gardens side, only a short walk to the park and pool, and with beautiful patios outside - with the two rooms joined and the terraces outside it felt like being in a large suite!

The weather was perfect - very mild and quite sunny. We had rain on Tuesday around afternoon parade time, but it didn't last too long, and we just carried on regardless. I think the weather had an effect on crowds though, as there were more there than we've ever seen in the last 3 years of going at this time (normally it's cold enough to freeze the proverbial brass monkey!). Still no real waiting though for any rides, although we actually had to grab a spot for the Studios parade for the first time ever! The renovated BTM is fantastic - and in the dark it's by far the best ride that we've ever been on.

Hi -

your room looks great. Can you remind me, is the pool in the west or east wing? (think its the west). I'm guessing your room was on the ground floor in the same wing as the pool.

I'm thinking about faxing before we go (see my thread) to ask if any chance of taking our prefs into account when room is allocated

The weather was great wasn't it? Considering some years when it's been too cold to move almost!

Andy, the room was truly fantastic. I think it's well worth trying to get one of these rooms if poss. The last time we went to the DLH we were on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool, and the room was smaller and the window titchy! (We still had a fabulous time though) The pool is in the left hand wing as you stand facing the DLH from outside the parks - I guess that's the west wing. You could just ask for the pool wing maybe?? We were just along the corridor from the pool - facing outwards towards Fantasia Gardens. It was also so easy to just pop into the park with not even an elevator on the way!

Buffalo Bill's was a HUGE hit - but birthday boy chickened out, and asked me not to say it was his birthday! Only one person from each "ranch" gets picked anyway - 4 in total for the whole arena - so don't know if they actually would have picked him. Our ranch won the contest so that was excitement enough for the boys!

The Disneland Hotel always looks lovely to me. I'd love to stay there. Sequoia's nice though!
