Hi I am just back from Disney and I am so sad. It is really hard to get back into normal routine. Any tips for getting over the post disney blues? Anybody else feel this way?

We came home and had the same feeling. It is very difficult to transition back into the real world - fantasy life is simply better. Perhaps try what worked for us... book another vacation! :yay:
222 days away!

When we left WDW in December, DW and I were very, very depressed. It didn't get any better the following weeks.

Then we started planning our next WDW vacation! That perked us right up. :thumbsup2

I started planning our next trip while we were still at Disney! That way when we got home there was no sadness. We KNEW we were going to head on back!

Read trip reports here! I had the same problem after our first trip to St Maarten last summer and keep it alive by reading a forum and seeing others pictures!

I am blessed because I can go to WDW whenever I want because it is 45 minutes from home. And I still can't get there enough because real life takes time too!

I always feel the same, Hope you had a great trip!

I know what you are feeling. I went to Disney in Sept and was so sad when I got back. It was our first trip and the planning and being on the trip was great. But when we had to come back to the Real World. Man that wasnt fun. It was like all the planning and anticipation was over and I was left with nothing. But going again this summer so I feel better planning again. Good luck.:thumbsup2

Plan another trip, that worked for me last year. We were home a week and I was planning the next trip.

This year we were gone 16 days. 7 days in S. Florida with the In-Laws and 9 days at WDW - I can't belive I am saying this but by day 8 at WDW I was ready to come home and don't forsee another WDW trip for 5 or so years. I am sure we will sneak in a DL in California in a year or 2 but I got my fill of WDW for now.

We are now home and this year we do not have the post vacation blues like last year.

Thanks everyone I just feel down in the dumps. I lost my mom a couple months ago and I think being in Disney took my mind off that being back just makes it real again. I will be in FLorida in April for my friends wedding I think we will sneek to the world without kids for one day. Then I am trying to talk DH into going in May for our 30th birthday/anniversary present without kids. So we can actually ride the rides together how fun. Then we will go back the same time in January. My husband wants to run the Marathon next year. Oh well I guess this sucky feeling will pass we just got back Monday night because I talked my husband into staying extra.

I started to fell the blues on my last day in Orlando. My dh said it ws funny I was up and ready to go everyday except check-out day. He basically had to drag me out of bed. We have a Disney cruise planned for 08 so no WDW for me until 2009 :sad2:

That is the only bad thing about a disney trip--is coming home! :( Every year I beg my dh to let me stay longer. It never works. LOL

We went in February of 2005 and DD and I were so sad on the plane trip home. I was practically in tears. It's not that life is so terrible back home, but WDW has always been the one place where we can forget all our cares, have fun, be taken care of, no homework, etc. We kind of thought we would go back in 2007, but then I talked DH into going back December 2006 so we could see the Christmas decorations. That trip is now behind us and I don't see another trip in sight for maybe 2 1/2 to 3 years. I'm not depressed, but sad. I LOVE WDW and everything Disney. On the last trip we were gone 9 days. Funny thing is, I almost hoped we would become bored or get on each others nerves and want to go home. Nope, instead we had a great time as usual even though we kind of know the place inside and out. I couldn't believe how fast the time went. Anyway, I have no trip I can start planning now already so if anyone has other suggestions, bring 'em on!

I know what you mean, we were there in Sept/Oct 2006, and all I could do was talk Disney Disney Disney, when I got back to work. My DH is not as crazy about DW like I am, but we enjoyed our trip with our DD, SIL, and grandsons.

What I did was order a DVD from the Laughing Place of the NSSHP since we were there at that time, so now when I am longing for Disney I just relieve it.

Plus I have Disney screen saver and background on my computer and since I am a Tink fan, my grandsons gave me the cutest Tink Lantern (from the toy section) and I can push the button and it flickers. Really cute.

WDW can make you want to live in a Fantasy World, I certainly never gave a thought about what was waiting for me back at work. LOL.

I wonder if they will hire Grandmothers! LOL

I agree keep wishing I was back in Disney.

We went this past August and we were all sad, but I think I took it the worst. Everytime I looked at something we bought on the trip, I would get sadder, but just a couple weeks ago I said that we are going back in '08 and now I am doing better :) I think if we can go every 2 years, that would be better in the long run...we will always have another trip to look forward to.

I agree with everyone, start planning another trip.

I actually worked in the CP in the summer of '97 and was depressed when I returned home. Then life happened, and we planned another trip that got cancelled because of a hurricane (full refund) then baby made 3 so...

We are finally on our way in October.

Get your pictures developed, for great quality i would take them to 'moto photo' if you have one near you,,,stay away from walmart/target if you can.

Take the time to put them in order of your days.

order the vacation planning DVD and the DVC DVD from Disney.

Log into the disney site and pretend to plan your next vacation, then plan your next Disney trip....cheap airfare always gets me in trouble though,,,

On a rainy day/night or just home,,,take everything out Disney, the pictures, dvd's,,,,etc....

It's not the same but it brings it right back again....

Leaving in a few days myself,,,

not looking forward to comming home,,,joking with my DW i said maybe we should become CM's after watching the Vacation Planning DVD.

'house of mouse' on the disney channel helps a little too.

Good Luck!

To combat the vaca blues:sad1: , we leave all our "stuff" packed until a week or two after we get home. Then on a saturday night after dinner we unpack and relive the trip. Our digital photos make a great slide show and really lifts our spirits! I also got into the habit of keeping a trip diary. I sometimes reread my notes just for a pick-me-up!:thumbsup2
