The trip was wonderful!! Thankfully, the weather was good, some light rain showers in the evening, but nothing serious. Food was great, of all the places we ate, Coral Reef was a disappointment. Not tragic, but I don't think I'd go back. Our table was wonderful, right next to the tank, but the food left a little to be desired.

California Grill was $$$$ but very good, a great place to watch fireworks. France (downstairs) was very good, Italy was ok, but I used to work a few blocks from "little Italy" in Chicago, so I'm a little tough on Italian places, given that I've been to so many really GREAT ones here. Boma was better than I remembered. For lunch, the Animal Kingdom has the best!! Tusker's for a great lunch of salmon, veggies and rice, Flame Tree for ribs -- I recommend both those places, I was VERY pleasantly surprised.

Attractions: Don't miss (well, don't miss anything, but especially):
EPCOT: Soaring, Test Track, Mission: Space (I enjoy it but it's not for everyone) -- Innovations has an attraction that allows you to ride a Segway, so if you ever thought it was something you'd like to try, here is your opportunity. (Did this twice and great fun!)
Animal Kingdom: Everest -- this ride is AWESOME, I went on 3 times (ok, so my eyes were closed the first time for almost the entire ride...). This is my new favorite ride!!! Be sure to walk around and look for the birds and animals. The vegetation (trees plants) have filled in and for the first time, it really does look like a jungle!! A Bug's Life is always fun, so is the safari in Africa.
MGM: Don't miss the new stunt show from Paris! If you liked the movie "The Italian Job" you will LOVE this! Very exciting!!!
Magic Kingdom: Everything!! Pirates has been updated and improved. If you haven't seen Mickey's Philharmonic, see it now! Great fun.

Have a magical day!!!

I'm so glad you had a great time. I love your positive attitude too! I hope you get over the "I'm gone from WDW blues" quickly. I remember feeling so sad for a few weeks when my DREAM vacation was over! (DH and I had the BEST time EVER!!). But now these months later I just remember all the fun we had!

I've not eaten at most of the places you went to but happy to see what you liked and didn't like ... (we did eat at Tusker House in AK and we liked it - especially the chocolate cake!)

I can't wait to see the updated Pirates in November! :sunny:

Nancy I know the feeling, but just think how primed you'll be for you next trip! :sunny:

I know what you mean. We just got back last month and it seems like so LOOOONG ago. We have a trip planned next month (for my b-day and anniversary) but I keep trying to figure out how we can stay down there permanently instead of coming home and dreading another Chicago winter.

I'm sorry Coral Reef was a disappointment. It was one of our best meals, but that may have been due to the scuba diver birthday banner for our DDs.

P.S. I know what you mean about being harsh on Italian restaurants once you've eaten in Little Italy. We can't even bring ourselves to eat at the Italian pavilion. Nothing really compares (except eating in Italy maybe!).

Welcome home and start planning your next trip. That seems to be the only way to get over the blues! :rolleyes1

We call this the AD period....after Disney. It's tough, and of course the only cure is planning your next trip. We all know that. I prefer the PD period...pre-disney. That's the time where you're planning the trip and making your ressies and ADR's and putting your itinerary together.

We're in PD right now - going 11/18 - 11/26. CSR. I prefer going straight from AD to PD. Sometimes that just isn't possible.

Thanks for the quick report. I'm so looking forward to going and seeing the updated POC. I didn't like Coral Reef either - the food was the issue. Also agree that Alfredos leaves a little to be desired.

I know what you mean, I just got back last night :sad2:

Right now I'm uploading my 850 some odd pictures to snapfish to send to my mom (who I went on the trip with- she took about 400 pics) and anyone else who may have an hour on their hands to sift through every moment of our trip :lmao:

I think putting together an album of our pics and organizing my new souveniers will get me through- and of course the DIS. It was a fun trip! No more on the horizon, but I can see another September trip in the future- free dining or not!

Our Coral Reef experience wasn't bad- I got the soup as an appetizer and it was somewhat cold- that was the only disappointment. I asked for the catfish meal made with Mahi Mahi and it was amazing, and my mom and I agreed that we had the best desserts on the trip there- the chocolate wave and the butterscotch creme brulee! Mmm! Sorry your experience wasn't as positive.

Thank You for your update. We only have 3 days left before we are off to the world. I can hardly stand the wait !

Welcome back. I always like reading people's quick impressions soon after a trip. Trip reports are great, but I like the "gut feelings" that people share upon returning. I also dread that feeling one gets when the vacation is done. It may sound silly since my own trip isn't for another month yet, but I'm already dreading that feeling.

Yes ,I know what you mean. We arrived a few days ago and I am planning my next Disney trip .

I know the feeling, but these boards help...and of course looking towards my next trip is always apleasant thought. Glad you had a great visit

We also got back yesterday. My dd said to me this afternoon, "Mommy, I want to be back in Disney." :sad2: To which my reply was, "Yes, baby girl, so does mommy."

This was our first trip. I'm in love with the place and can't wait to get back. My dh and I are discussing a trip next year as an anniversary/birthday trip. This time we'll leave the kiddies at home. :rolleyes1

I agree about Tusker House. I had the same lunch as you and it was wonderful. We also had lunch at Rose and Crown and really enjoyed it. Our favorite character meal was the Princess Breakfast at Norway in Epcot. The food was great, and the character interaction was wonderful.

Welcome home and get to planning like I am! :yay:
