HI everyone!
dh and I spent 2 weeks at WDW! BWV studio on dvc points from May 4 - 11th, and YC concierge (cash) from May 11 - 18th!
we had the most wonderful time!!! this was our 11th trip and it was believe it or not the best one yet! every single day was tons of fun!!!
and perfect weather! 90 degrees and sunny every day! there was only one day when it rained for about an hour, that's it!
awesome!!!
we checked in at BWV around 3:30 on saturday May 4th. check in was a breeze, very quick, and then we headed to our room! my requests were granted!
we were in room 5061, 5th floor , not directly over the BW, but over the BW Green, you could see the BW from the room though, and the Y&B club, and most importantly, we could see Spaceship earth! it was perfect!
all the cm's were very nice during our stay, nothing extraordinary, but perfectly nice! no complaints at all!
we spent a lot of time at the quiet pool and hotub, we really like the quiet pool at the BWV, it is so nice, beautifully landscaped and usually very quiet!!
after one week, it's time to move to the YC concierge! ahhhhhh!!!
we called bell services on saturday morning around 10am, they came immediately, took our suitcases and then they would bring them to the YC for us by 2pm. no hassle at all!
we went over to the YC around 11am, used our 5th floor access key that concierge had sent us in the mail, so that we could go directly to concierge level without having to go to the front desk at all! very nice!!!!!!!
the moment we got off the elevator we were immersed in magic! we were immediately recognized by the cm's there! Theresa and Dane, they recognized us from our previos stay there in November! it was such a great feeling! and ofcourse they knew our names too! we were so happy!!!!
we checked in, our room wasnt ready yet, so we headed over to Epcot for lunch, and when we returned around 3pm, our room was ready. we had room 5215, a King bed over SAB, it was great! this was the second time we were over SAB (the first time we stayed over the Donald Duck topiary) what a nice view! not only can you see SAB, crescent lake, BW, but also you can see one whole side of WS! we saw France, Morocco, Japan, America, and Italy!!! just wonderful!!
our balcony was huge!!!!!!! cause the corner king bedrooms are a touch smaller than the 2 queen rooms, the balconies are bigger!
housekeeping was awesome! our housekeeper was Virginie, she was so very nice! she made us animals out of the towels everyday, and always smiled and said hello! I even enjoyed a nice conversation with her, she asked us when we were coming back again!!!
I'll say it again! the cm's at YC concierge are the BEST! really they go so out of there way to make you feel welcomed, and to help you with anything you need! and they seem genuinely happy to help! what a great thing!
we had many great conversations with them, and they are all really nice! I'll post it on the Thank you board too, but incase any of them read this... I want to mentin them... thanks to Theresa, Betty, Dane, Diana, Kristen, Jennifer, Angela, Atif, Barbara, Greg, and ofcourse Troy!
the best staff at any resort! well, atleast any of the 5 resorts I've stayed at!
the lounge was great as usual, wonderful selection at breakfast, also a nice variety of snacks during the day!
during the day they have cookies (all 4 kinds now, not just choc chip as they used too! choc chip, macadamia nut, oatmeal, and sugar) popcorn, pretzels, chips and salsa, breadsticks wrapped in bacon, fruit roll ups, pudding, and a cake or pastries!
in the evening they always have a great variety of appetizers. it varies but some items are veggie wraps, scallops wrapped in bacon, mini corn dogs, cocnut chicken, large veggie tray, and cheese tray too, peanut butter and Jelly, cookies.....
and the evening is a wide variety of pastries and a cake.
they have soda, water, juice, coffee tea....
one thing that is different is that they no longer offer the plastic water bottles, now they have the big liter glass bottles they will give you to take to your room (like at the GF) or perrier. they always have pitchers of water out that you can drink too, and its not tap water, it's bottled water that they pour in the pitcher.
at first I was a little upset that they didnt have the plastic bottles anymore, but it wasnt a big deal. we got the large bottles to drink in the room, and before we went out, we'd just fill a cup with water from the pitcher and be on our way.
no big deal, it was fine. truth is after an hour in the park, you have to buy water anyway, cause we always feel thirsty and dehydrated when its so hot!
the renovations at the YC are starting on July 1st!!!!!!!
they are doing one floor at a time! starting with the concierge floor! it is getting a total rehab! new decor (keeping with the nautical theme ofcourse) new furniture, it will be wood now, instead of white, and everyroom will have a Mickey lamp!! (like at the GF!) they are also expanding the concierge lounge! they are maling it bigger, and opening it up! no more doors, it will no longer close during the day, it will be open all day long like at the Poly concierge!
it sounds like they are going to make a lot of great changes! I cannot wait to go back in November! as if they could make it better! I cant imagine! I'm so excited!!!!
we also did a lot of things on our trip!! ate at a ton of restaurants, I'll get to posting that on the restaurant board soon! we played golf, we saw Cirqu du soleil, went to all 4 parks, I became a pin collector! Jerry started collecting the trading cards!
We also spent a lot of time at the pool at BWV, and also at SAB, so relaxing!
we had an awesome time!!!!!!!!
feel free to ask any questions!!! you know I love to answer!!!
