Just back from a lovely week at BCV. To tell the truth, I was worried about the condition of the resort after reading about so many issues here, but I needn't have. The resort looks great. I did catch some wear and tear throughout the villa (one-bedroom Rm. 238) that seems a bit premature for its age, though - knicks on pretty much all the wall corners, water damage on the paint near the shower. But that's just nitpicky stuff. Overall, it looked great! We waited a few hours for the room, but when we finally got it right around 4, it was perfectly clean and tidy.

We spent a lot of time at SAB, which was lovely as always. I was a little upset and disappointed at the hours, though. Our last night there was Friday and we were planning on an evening swim until 10, which was when it had been closing all week. Turns out SAB had closed at 8. 8, on a Friday night! We ended up in the quiet pool, but that wasn't nearly as much fun.

We bought refillable mugs and, for the first time, WAY got our money's worth. I have to say that I'm not sure why these COULDN"T be reused. I know its not quite kosher, but I remember these having the exact same design last year when I was at SAB. I might bring mine down again at Christmas and see what happens.

The parks were great and HOT! What is it about Animal Kingdom that just makes it so UNCOMFORTABLE? Maybe its the day we were there, but it was almost unbearably hot. Wishes was beautiful. We got to see it at MK and from Ohana. I think I appreciated it more from further away because I didn't have to deal with the crowds. SUCH an improvement over Fantasy in the Sky.

We ate some great food, as always. Beaches and Cream was wonderful for every one of the FIVE times we ate there. Le Cellier was fantastic, as was Primetime Cafe. We had a great mom! She was a hoot. Fulton's Crab House was - eh. I swear, my food had practically no flavor.

Last comment: WeGoShop ROCKS! I have to admit I was a little wary about whether they would get the order right, etc, esp since I dealt with them exclusively through email. No problem. They are the NICEST people. Its run by a husband and wife and they delivered with their adorable baby. They brought everything in a large rubbermaid container and took it over to bell services for us. They were just a pleasure to deal with.

Ok, enough about this trip. Time to start counting down til Christmas!

Thanks for the tip about "wegoshop"...I have never heard of it. I am glad that you had such a wonderful time. Sandie B

Thanks for the report! Glad you had a good trip.

As to the AK, I think it's hotter there because of all the surrounding vegetation. It doesn’t let any breezes through to stir the air. I usually only tour there in the AM and leave after lunch. Still wouldn’t miss visiting AK, it’s one of my favorite parks.
:)

Thank you for the report. It's so nice to hear when somebody has a great time. We will be there soon.:wave2:

Thanks for sharing your impressions of your DVC stay....glad that everything was to your satisfaction! :)

And we agree, DAK always seems very hot to us. But always enjoyable too. :)

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!! I know exactly what you mean about AK! Its always hotter there than anywhere else. Not sure why either. Thanks for the great report. Can't wait to go "home" to BCV myself in December.

Thanks for the report! We also use the refillable mugs any time we go down to the pool or anytime we go to B&C.

I agree about AK, I don't know what it is, but it is always more hot and sticky than the rest.

Thanks for the great report!

Love you countdown setup! How did you do that?

Thanks for the report. AK always seems warmer to us too. I think it's because of all the vegatation that surrounds it, cuts down on the breezes. I agree about Fultons, our first and only time there was kind of a disappointment. High cost, mediocre food. Glad you had a good stay at BCV. Our May stay at BCV was not so good, so hopefully they are improving things.

Thanks for your report!

BCV is our newest home resort and I'm happy to hear you had a great time:hyper:

I'm so glad to hear you had a wonderful vacation. We will be there soon!:bounce:

Excellent report, thanks!

DH and I have discussed the AK heat situation so many times, and I'm so glad to hear that you guys have noticed it too or else I was going to think we were losing it. It's like it's in a seperate biosphere or something, you feel like you're really nearer to the African/equitorial heat zone than North American.

Thanks for all the comments, everyone!

Zulaya, I taught myself how to create a table using HTML. There are loads of instructions all over the internet that are easy enough for someone without much HTML knowledge to follow. It took me some time, but it was fun to do. I wrote the program and then copied and pasted it into signature section in the User CP. HTH!

I forgot to mention that I did manage to get a DVC watch. I got number 278, I think, and bought it at Atlantic Wear. I honestly wasn't expecting them to have any left after some reports I read here, but apparently they got a shipment right before I arrived because they had a bunch. Its a beautiful watch, although a bit large for me even though it is a ladies'. I wouldn't wear it all the time, anyway. Its not water resistant.

Vegetation also raises the humidity along with cutting down air flow.

Glad you had a great trip and the BCV experience was positive. I'm feeling sorry for everyone who skips a trip there because of what they hear here.

And manning already answered what I would say about the AK - the vegetation itself would increase the humidity around the park. Obviously - it's not as open as World Showcase, so the breezes are down too - but I've always thought it's mostly the humidity levels.

Of course - maybe we are all fooled and it's really just Disney magic - creating the jungle/tropical/desert ambiance. ;)

Thanks for the trip report. Sounds like you had a great time.

I believe AK seems hotter because it is a park with very little that is indoors. This past year they finally enclosed and put AC in for the Lion King show. That show, the dino ride and bug show are the only ones indoors.
