We never had this problem at any Disney resort before, but the water in the shower, tubs and sinks would only get to warm. We called down to Engineering thinking that something was broken when a worker so rudely told us that the temp is 108, Disney wouldn't let it go any higher and not to expect any steam! My DH just about died. There is nothing like a hot shower after a long day at the parks. My DDs couldn't even stand showering or bathing. I've heard of risk management, but this is ridiculous! I certainly hope that the other resorts still offer hot water. In addition, the housekeeping staff was very rude when we asked for more towels. They tried to tell me that they didn't give me new towels at trash and towels because I already had some. The only reason I had some was because I ordered extra on the first day. When they did finally deliver them, they left a pile of washcloths on top.....rude! This was not a great Disney trip for us. We were very excited when we moved over to Portofino Bay at Universal for the remainder of our trip. Finally, hot showers (and front of the line access!)

This is what we are all facing as WDW has long ago been taken over by people that are rewarded by cutbacks in costs. They have air conditioners that only run when movment is detected now, many people have woke up sweating. This type of thing has been going on down there for over 10 years, the bus service is another example of cut backs gone wild, people on duty at various attractions have been cut back. This is long before 9/11. Attractions are shut down and only open on the most crowded time if that. But you know what we all keep coming back for more. Go figure.

I certainly think 108 is too low a temp for "hot water" but have noticed the lowering of temps at some other motels/hotels while traveling, and it is frustrating. As for trash and towel, shouldn't housekeeping have collected ALL your dirty towels and left 1 set of fresh? Of course, you'd then have to pay for a 2nd fresh set if you needed them.

Where do they have motion detectors for ACs? Attractions being closed or seasonal is nothing new, and has been going on since before WDW was built - DL had "seasonal" attractions when I was young. The bus service varies seasonally as well - we've had some slow busses, but have also had some excellent service. If you are so terribly unhappy with WDW don't go! Vote with your wallet. Have you been to a Six Flags park lately? Oh yeah, sorry, most of them are seasonal, too. In fact neither six flags or Sea World is open in San Antonio right now - and our weather is similar to WDW.

That's something I've wondered about. If you pay $6 on your check-in day for extra towels, do they replace all of them on T&T or do you have to pay $6 again?

The only "downsizing" I have witnessed was about two years ago at OKW. There was a drought in Florida and the resort was changing the shower heads to low-flow ones that didn't have much if any pressure. The next year we were back though and the shower heads were back to normal. I don't know if they ever really changed all shower heads or not...........I tend to believe we just got the one unit that had a no-pressure shower head.

We have run into rude CM's too. But the majority of them are nice and very friendly. The few rude ones can sure sour your day though.....even your whole trip depending on the degree of rudness and how much you encounter it.

There was a post not back before I went to the BWV in Oct. about the climate control at the BCV and they employ the movement sensors in the room to run the A/C. There were alot of complaints on this board about waking up in the middle of the night because the room was too warm, then they waved their arms around and they heard the air kick on. This is only at the BCV right now from what I learned. My stay at the BWV was fine. I was able to run the A/C myself and sometimes made it a little too cold but quickly fixed it myself!

Maybe BCV could/should modify the AC system - while energy saving is important, perhaps a hybrid system could be employed - motion sensors active during daytime hours and then standard contols during the evenings.

We recently stayed at BCV for 3 nights in a 1 BR. Didn't have any problems with the AC, towels or anything.

Also DVC in my opinion has not cut back on anything. They have no reason to do so since they collect the same dues from us regardless if we show up or not.

When we were at bcv in Sept., it was a lukewarm shower at best...couldn't wait to get out of it...very disappointing! Don't recall that problem at bwv. At OKW last week I took long glorious hot showers...NICE

Have you been to a Six Flags park lately?
Went to Magic Mountain in Aug.What a big mistake.Dirty! Half the coasters not operating.(basically that is all MM is)Got stuck on one of the 1st looping steel coasters for 30min in 95d heat which felt like 3hrs.No workers in sight when needing assistance.Pay for front of line pass which only entitles you to a few rides and you still wait up to 45min.That only touches the surface.Yes Disney may have some problems,( they do a lot of things right too) but will take it over the others anyday.:)

This was the entryway and seating/standing area on the Incline type transportation that takes you to the top of a hill in the park to get to Superman).Imagine having your monorail looking like this.

We've never had problems with A/C, towels, water pressure, hot water, buses, foliage blocking the balcony, or noise. We did have a shabby unit at OKW once and Housekeeping made sure they cleaned and fixed everything and replaced all missung items immediately.
I think many hotels have turned down the water heat to conserve energy but more importantly ot save on insurance premiums from lawsuits concerning kids being scalded.

At all our visits to OKW we never had a problem with the showers.Even at VB in July the showers were fine.

We are just back from 9 days at BCV, and I have to somewhat agree. I too, love a very HOT shower. I did not get one. But it was acceptable. Just not sure if it was 108dgf, but it was just ok.

My only gripe was the showerhead pressure. None whatsoever! But when on vacation, I expect things will not be the same as I have at my home. So, I just enjoyed what I had.

It was still better than being at home, showering, then off to work!

Towels were ontime, although I did not pay extra for extras. They were changed on day 4, and day 7.

BCV was great, and we would definitely return if the reservation gods permit!

Just wondering how the water pressure was at the sinks in the kitchen and bathroom sinks, and if it got hotter than 108 degrees.

but we had faucet knob (whatever you called it) pegged at the maximum hottest spot. We had to run the water for a minute or 2 to get it hot.

Sorry, if we took all the hot water.

Well, as owners we have an important voice in these matters, and if we are unhappy with water temperature we need to make that clear to the manager.

I've never had a problem at Vero, but haven't stayed at BCV yet. The shower definitely needs to be hot. Rude CM need to provide thier names so they can be appropriately reported to the management.

MMCD...I thought that was the problem on the first day. I just figured that all the hot water was used up! We had a 2BR lockoff, and all of the water from the sinks, showers and tubs were the same temperature. Funny, but I thought the shower pressure was actually ok. I still love Disney, but I think I prefer the BWV.:D I can sit back and watch my kids swim without my DH having to chase them across the walkway while I wait for them to come down the slide.

What about the dishwasher? Isn't the water supposed to be 160 degrees or something to adequately wash off all the germs? By the way, we were at VWL two weeks ago and I thought the water in the shower got very hot.

I was just thinking the same thing!!! We just bought a new dishwasher and the manual suggests that the hot water in the house be at 120 or above to clean the dishes.. You would think in light of the recent happenings on the DCL that Disney would be more concerned about people getting sick from 'less than clean' dishes than from someone getting burned in a shower. All the shower knobs are the new ones where you have to turn them past cold to get to hot.. Is the water that they use to clean the dishes in the restaurants set at 108 too? Pretty scary if you think about it.

Dishwashers have a built in water heater. You supply them with hot water and it then heats it further. If your hot water supply was heated to the correct temp for your dishwasher it could scald you.
