First time to DL and loved it! Even DH who was hesitant to go on a longer plane ride for what he thought would be a "lesser park". At one point in the trip, he even said he thought DL was BETTER than WDW.

On our first day, Saturday, we got to do a ton of rides with little wait, and this was with arrival at 2pm.
The next day MM was awesome - we did all of Fantasyland and then WALKED on Nemo after 8am - this was a big surprise. At first we thought it was shut down because there was no line.

Loved Aladdin and Magical fireworks.

Fantasmic was also better than WDW but a logistical nightmare. We got the reserved seating but had a very hard time getting to the seats. Each way we tried to go, we were blocked by CMs and sent back the other way. Crowds were a nightmare. This was on Monday. This was the only major annoyance during the whole trip.

Stayed at DLH hotel, which we also loved. Was worried based on negative reviews on the boards. We were in the Wonder tower. The walk from the hotel to the parks was a breeze, so nice not to have to wait for transportation.

After Sunday when all blockout restrictions were lifted it became much more crowded and hard to get around. Heard many guests and CMs in the park saying this was the most crowded they have ever seen the park. We got up for opening all days but one due to exhaustion.

We got to go on all the rides we wanted to at both parks, plus several repeats. Thought most rides were equal or better than those at WDW, except for Splash Mountain.

Also thought DTD was much nicer than the one at WDW.

Thanks to Hydroguy, Blackjackdelta and all others on this board for the great tips and help before our trip.

We definitely plan to return to DL :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Welcome back. Both parks are special in their own ways. I'm so glad you were able to see the magic in the original. :)
