Hey! I got back late last night, and was too tired to post much, as it was a LONG day! We got up around 5:30AM so we could make park opening and left the parks early and got home after 11PM. I don't I'll EVER go back to the parks this time of year...my mom didn't want to either, but the only reason we did was to meet Robin (though, unfortunately, we were unable to...she was too exhausted after an endless drive down from Atlanta).

We tried Finnegan's. We probably won't ever eat there again, unless I want Buffalo Chicken. The chicken was good, but everything else was just "alright." Oh! Except for their lovely soda bread  It was so horrible...tasted like just a glob of uncooked dough...and it didn't come with real butter...came with some Apple Cinn. stuff, which my mom liked, but she just ate it without the bread. Where we were sitting though, we had a great view of the Blues Brothers stage, so I got to watch that as we ate.

My dad finally maxed out everyone! My mom and I didn't because we were busy trying to find certain special sensors that supposedly give you over 150,000 points. No luck with that...lol. No, we think we see them, but just haven't hit them yet. So, we went on to MIB for an hour. It was DEAD. It was always walk-on for us. Though later that day it got up to a 90 minute wait!

My parents went onto Twister, which had a 15 minute wait (I was going to, but I just got a soda and didn't want to throw it away). They then used their Shrek Express Passes while I saved my spot at the GB Show.

Saw all 4 GB Shows. Boy was it crowded!!!At one show, the Twister employee who moves the crowds so the GBs can drive their car to the front, was no where to be found. There were sooo many people just sitting there, not paying attention to the Ghostbusters' requests for them to move. It was crazy.

I saw 3 Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue Shows. The first I saw with my parents. Then we headed over to see the Horror Makeup Show. We watched the Macy's Parade from the Show entrance, to pass time.

Guys, let me be honest -- if you want to listen to the high school bands play their music, sit over in the intersection of Vine St. and Hollywood Blvd....uh...around Horror Makeup Show and Cafe La Bamba. :p The AP viewing area is over near the Ghostbusters Show stage, but by then, the show is pretty much over. ..unless you'd rather watch the Rockette wannabes dance (no, they were decent, but didn't know what to call them). Then the AP viewing area is fine.

I decided at the last minute to skip the Horror Makeup Show, to see another Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue. My parents saw the HMS anyway. This time, I got a seat closer to my spot (oh no...I have a "spot" at the Beetlejuice Show too now???). My parents joined me for the next show, and there was a complete cast change. The last show was hysterical...the Frankenstein and Wolfman both I had never seen before...but they really got into it. Very animated. Though the other three guys I've seen play Wolfman I like a bit better.

We left after the Beetlejuice Show and noticed Street Breaks was going on, even after dark. Very cool! If my dad didn't have Jury Duty this morning, maybe we would have stayed to watch one.

Shrek had up to a 120 minute wait. J. Neutron was up to 80 minutes. Jaws was 90. BTTF was 60. Didn't notice the other ones. The crowds were absolutely dreadful...and all the while you hear "It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!" playing...lol!!

It was a great trip though! :) Oh! I'm going to try to get a roll of film developed (JessicaR, I have 4 pictures left on that 36 exposure film...so I haven't gotten your picture with the GBs taken just yet..hopefully will get it developed today)..

Any questions? :teeth:

Glad u had a great trip Claire u are so lucky to be so close to the parks:jester:

Hey Fly Fly! Sorry we didn't get to meet up. I have to agree. I don't think I would go back this time of the year. We had FOTL as we stayed at RPR, but even then the crowds were unbearable even just to walk the park. Then to boot, my son and I got the flu. I will post a report later. Still not feeling well.

So Clare - how many days in total have you spent at each of Universal Studios and IOA this year?? Presume you aren't going back any time in the next 2 days!

Will you beat that next year?

BTW had a good look at the Statue of Liberty's torch in Spiderman when I was there in October - I think your mom has an over active imagination!!

Flyfly-
Glad we got to see you while we were there. The first thing my kids told their Mom about was the GB guy having a seizure.

Flyfly, today was worse.

Shrek: 120
BTTF: 90
Jimmy Neutron 90+
MIB: 120
Jaws: 90
EQ: 60-75+
ET: 60+
Woody Coaster: 60-75+

I can only imagine that Hulk and Spider-Man hit 120, JP 75, Doom 60+, etc.

My mom didn't come up with it!!!!!!!  My cousin who's in her twenties pointed it out to my mom, plus other people on these boards also "saw" this. :p

So, I went at least 35 times this year. I think I'll beat it this year coming..this year we started with going once a month, and ended up going once or twice a week. Now, I don't think we can go only once a month!!! :teeth:

SpideyHulk: Poor you!! :( You need to get better soon! :p Yeah, the crowds...yuuuuuck! It was even worse when I was trying to walk to the Beetlejuice Show after deciding not to see the Horror Makeup Show...I was left having to follow the tailend of the Macy's Parade...oh boy, is THAT madness  Probably took me an etra 10-15 minutes to get to the BJGYR!

Dark Marauder: Even MORE crowded?! I dare not wonder about how it will be on December 31!

Motherfletcher: GB guy? Wasn't it just some guy waiting to watch the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue? I didn't really see much because I was sitting up front (and center....lol!!) and the guy was in the back. Poor guy...what a way to ruin your day. :(

Highlander: Yeah, but I didn't feel so lucky coming home from Universal that night. I was soooo exhausted, I felt sick. Luckily eating dinner helped, but then we were stuck in a traffic jam for a while. Sometimes 2 hours still seems too far away

Funny thing about the crowds - I was expecting Friday and Saturday to be HUGE at IOA, but they were fairly managable. Sunday was the worst - lucky for us, we were only there Sunday to see Shrek - 1st ones in the door - and to get some photos of the parks. the lines for Spidey were at about 100 minutes, Hulk was around 75. I'll have a trip report soon, I hope.

I'm telling u Claire U & Spidey are spoiled for me its an 11hr flight 5 hr time diffrence it takes me 45 mins to get too work so 2 hrs to visit Universal good deal:jester:

LOL yeah, I know it doesn't even begin to compare to the long journey most of you have to make! But some employees at Universal are so surprised I come as often as I do because it's a long 2-hour drive way :p :p

Fafolguy - so you had a great trip despite crowds? That's cool. After Christmas is always soo busy (understandably). Would have thought Friday and Saturday would have been just as busy as Sunday...but maybe sinme people went to some After-Christmas Sales (like I did...LOL) or something...

OK Clare - you've got my curiousity going!! :) What is it with the torch in Spiderman? Enquiring minds wants to know..... :)

I can't believe I will be in sunny warm Orlando tomorrow morning!! Hooray!!

threeboysmom - you'll be at Universal tomorrow?? Or just Orlando itself? I'm at the parks tomorrow, myself. :)

The torch thing...well, I've never seen it myself, but...hmm...maybe someone else can tell you about it...:p :p

Hi Fly Fly - We won't be heading to Universal property until Saturday 1/3. I won't mention where we'll be the first couple of days! LOL! I plan on seeing the Ghostbuster show - you've talked so much about it - I'm dying to see it! You've got me really curious about the torch, but if you're uncomfortable about mentioning it, maybe it's something I don't want to hear ?

now you're beginning to understand :teeth:

so you'll be at the "other park" huh? :p Well, as long as you go to Universal and see a GB Show, I don't mind ;) :p I think you still might see the Holiday Show...I think it ends the same time the other holiday festivities end.

Threeboysmom - there was a whole thread about this a few months ago. I'd find it and post a link but I have no idea how.

Apparently the Statue of Liberty's torch handle (do torches have handles?) was supposed to look like a .... well an "adult oriented image" which somebody's mom (clearly not Flyfly's!) said was "definitely rather male" or words to that effect.

I looked (twice) and I think it looked definitely rather like a torch handle.

Flyfly - I bet your mom isn't much older than me!

no, no...my mom did say that...but she didn't come up with it. She never would have even noticed it if it weren't for my cousin...:p but she didn't start the thread anyway, so other people noticed it too.

Clare-
It was BJ.

Torch-
I think phallic symbols can be found most anywhere. I don't hesitate taking my DD10 on Spidey because of the torch.

I thought I had spelled it wrong so I had to look it up. According to Webster phallic is an adjective meaning "image of a pee pee."
