Back from another great stay at the Dolphin!!

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks so much for posting! The pictures are great and are really getting me excited for my 7th visit to S/D coming up in a couple weeks! I cant wait to return there. :goodvibes

Thanks so much for the review... We can't wait to stay there next November... YOu took some AWESOME pictures..

Since you got the comp upgrade, just curious to know what you rooms you had booked? Also, did you have a balcony? Wonderful pics! :thumbsup2

Blondie--I'm glad you had a great stay! You made me homesick for the Dolphin. ;) I need to start planning a new trip.

Thanks for the great photos...

What restaurants did you eat at the swan/dolphin...
Was it good.

Any planned kids activities there?
thanks
Kerri

We ate lunch on arrival day at the Fountain. My BLT was great, one son had a cheeseburger and ate it all, the other had a chicken parm. flatbread thingy that he also ate all of. My DH ordered a chicken breast sandwich that he wasn't particulary fond of, but he's picky!

DH went to Picabu every morning for his daily servings of fruit. He'd purchase a cut up fruit mixture that he usually consumed all of. He'd have that and a croissant. The rest of us ate up in the room, things we bought on our grocery stop like muffins and pop tarts. We're easy!

I noticed on Thanksgiving morning (or was it the day before???) there were some children's activities on the sandy beach area, some kind of bowling like game. They also had the music playing rather loud, almost sounded like a band playing, maybe it was. We never made it down there that day.

I wanted to add for those wondering we did indeed have Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena lotion, shampoo and conditioner. For soap it was the oatmeal bath soap, and glycerine face bar. Down at the boat dock that's all we could smell was Coconut Lime Verbena! It wasn't overpowering, just a nice light scent in the air. :)

Great Pix. I have never stayed at Dolphin, but have walked around the property.

Can You get Magical Express to the Swan/Dolphin?

No Magical Express that I'm aware of. We always rent a car, others have used a towncar service. :)

Those are great pictures and a great room you were upgraded to. I so enjoy the Dolphin and the beds are just the BEST! Seeing your pictures makes me want to return there so badly. I haven't been since I got married there in 2005.

As a side note, the S/D was just barely decorated for christmas, nor were they playing christmas music yet like the other resorts. As the days went by, we noticed a new wreath here or there, but nothing major. Which was okay with me because I think the holiday season is so rushed anymore!

The other resorts and the parks were in full swing though regarding christmas decorations.

On our check out day (Nov. 23rd.) as we we walked through the lobby I noticed that the fountain in the center was completely drained. I imagine they are getting ready to put up the huge floor to celing tree this weekend!

We checked into the Dolphin on the 23rd, and I asked where the tree was at check-in. I could see that the dolphin fountain wasn't running, so figured the tree would be up soon. Sure enough, by the next morning, the Dolphin's Christmas tree was up!

I'm not a fan of Picabu, because I think it's pricey for what you get. My daughter and I ate a quick breakfast there one morning, but $9.99 for mediocre scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, and toast is a lot, especially when you can get the same thing cooked to order for the same price at Spoodles (http://allearsnet.com/menu/menu_spb.htm).

I'm glad the Swan (a Westin hotel), where I usually stay, is all non-smoking. I wish all Starwood hotels would follow suit, as the Marriott hotels have done (and now all WDW hotels as well). Our room at the Dolphin was on the 9th floor, and the sign by the elevator said it was a non-smoking floor. However, there were ashtrays in our room and it smelled like cigarette smoke.
