Now that we're unpacked, the lawn is mowed and we're back to work (yuk!)...here's our observations from our May 5-12 stay;
Our room was ready upon check in at 2:00 pm. We had requested a King-size bed but was taken to a room with 2 queens. The room was near the end of Kudu trail (#3371) and the animals were all hanging out within view (must have just been let back into the arrusha savannah) so we opted not to make a fuss about the bed arrangements and stay there. It was a great choice - we had a variety of animals every morning and evening just hanging out within view.
Our only problem was with housekeeping - the bed linens were not changed for 4 days - and not until we called to complain. We also had difficulty getting fresh towels upon request.
The resort itself is breathtaking! We had a great time discovering all the vantage points for animal viewing - the fire exits at the ends of the trails were especially good. We saw the baby Impala but did not see Bleesbok (the ladies are expecting) or Kudu (will be returing in June).
We really enjoyed the lobby tour (daily at 3:30 pm) - Jed was our guide - he's especially good with children and was able to entertain and educate our group of all ages from 5 years old to 70's.
If we are lucky enough to get back to WDW, we definitely would return to AKL - and probably request a room either on floor 2 or 3 near the end of Kudu or Zebra trail. The animals like to hang out near the ends of the buildings in the shade and although these rooms are not near the giraffe feeding locations - they always have a variety of animals near by.

Did you eat at the fast food place? Is it like a food court? How was bus service? Did you use the pool? What was that like? Thanks for anything you can tell us to help make our trip better. WE are looking forward to trying AKL, we usually stay at POFQ, but have stayed at CBR for 9 nights and All star Movies one night. Also stayed at Fort Wilderness cabins one trip. We like the quiet of POFQ and Fort wilderness.
