Hi, We are just back from 7 nights at PC. We stayed from Sat. 10th till sat. 17th. I'll Just ramble at bit about the hotel.

We arrived on sat. at 1:00pm the day before the marathon ( we were not running but it looked like everyone else was!) We waited about 30 minutes in line to check in. I will say that we were just so happy to be there and take it all in that we didn't mind the wait. Also a CM was going through the line passing out some info on the hotel and parks for us to look at while waiting. We had not requested a certain area but asked about the 70's or 50's and she had a 70's room for us that was ready NOW! We'll take it!

It was a great location even though it wasn't very close to a pool it was cool all week and we never swam. But it was close to the main building and the bus stops. We were on the 4th floor with a courtyard view. This area was very quite as it didn't have much going on. It wasn't on the main walkway to the bus stop, or lobby or pool etc. so there wasn't alot of foot traffic. I had been VERY worried about the room size since we are a family of 4 and had a ton of luggage! However it wasn't bad at all. The only part that drove me crazy was trying to get in and out the door as the door opens and almost skims the bed. They need just a bit more space here. Especially with a stroller.
1st we took pics of the room before we unloaded and made it a mess! The kids and DH laid and watched TV while I unpacked. I worked my butt off because I just don't feel like i am there till I am unpacked. We found that if we were organized then we had enough space. I brought extra plastic hangers from home and hung up a ton of stuff to save the drawer space for other stuff. The tiny little shelf under the bathroom mirror was great. It looks small but holds alot. We had a small collapsible cooler we kept in the room all week for breakfast items. The Dresser/entertainment center was much roomier and held alot more than the ones at All Stars.
Maid service was ok. No problems at all. Only thing was they never gave us a bag for our ice bucket but it was no big deal. The 1st few days it was 3-4pm when they cleaned the room but the last 2-3 days it was 9am. As a matter of fact they were trying to get in to clean as we were leaving for the parks a couple times. We had a bed rail that housekeeping brought that came in handy. We didn't get any towel animals but they sat some of our things in the window. There was an area that we had to walk past to get to the bus stop and every single window had a towel animal in it. But this was in a different section.
Also when we entered the room the 1st thing we noticed was that it was warm. Well since it was 50 outside it felt good at 1st. then after awhile we were all hot in the room. the thermastat said 68 and I had read on here about that but I had DH call and they sent up maintaince in about 10 minutes. He messed with it for at least 20 minutes and got it much cooler in the room. He said that it is set to not go lower than 68. However it was 75 in the room! and the thermastat thought it was already 68 in the room so it wasn't coming on to cool it down. So even though it said 68 it was really 75! However once he was done he said now it will cool it down to 68 for real! Which it did and it was cool in there all week. Don't know about summer though. That may be different.
The food court was very large and everything we saw looked good. I thought they could have a little less BBQ and sloppy joe type foods but I am just picky. And my kids wanted grilled cheese and never had one anywhere all week. They kept the food court very clean. But you could tell a big difference on sunday evening when alot of people had checked out from the weekend. It was almost quite in there during the week till Friday and then it was crazy again. Some of the things we ate were: Pizza (twice), kids nuggets, chili dog, cheesesteak sandwich, and the moms dinner special of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes. Everything was good. OH! and we had the ice cream sandwich! this was wonderful! it was $4.99 but was easily split for 2. ( or more!)

Kids loved the arcade and it was huge. Also loved the playground.

I didn't really like it that we had to walk through the gift shop to get to the food court of when we came off the bus and wanted to go to the food court. To tempting for the kids and even the adults!

Bus's were good. It's a good thing they make you line up to get on or it could get ugly! During the week even when the parks were slow the bus's were packed in the morning and evenings. And boy can they shove alot of people on there. But as far as wait times for a bus the only time that was long was on a thursday evening at 8pm we thought we were leaving epcot before the crowds but waited 30 minutes for a bus! and by the time it got there it was packed and i am not sure everyone made it on that one. We talked to some other people on friday night while waiting for a bus at MK ( only waited about 10 minutes) the people we spoke to had left epcot after illum. the night before ( same night we left early) and they said that they had 2 bus's waiting. And when the bus showed up that night at the MK it was 2 bus's again. So I guess that one night we were at epcot was a fluke.

Anyway, I think that is about all I can think of but we really did like the hotel. Yes, it is tacky outside but you know that before you get there and you just have to have fun with it. If you want a nice quite, peaceful, beatiful hotel you are in the wrong place! If you want a good value, disney magic, disney transportation, fun place then you will be happy!

:D

Thank you for your thoughtful report. Lots of good info for Moms. I wondered about fitting into one of these rooms (we are 4) and it sounds like you guys did OK. I would rather have an extra "budget" trip to Disney now and again than no trip at all... The Value resorts are a great option. :)
