I thought the cruise was great. I enjoyed the entertainment and characters. I didn't think the food was that great though. We just returned to shore yesterday and now I am sitting in my room at AKL with a major sinus infection.
I was fine until I got on the cruise and Thursday is when it really kicked in. I felt better Friday sitting on the beach at Castaway Cay but shortly after I got back on the ship I started feeling bad again. I have gone thru 3 boxes of kleenex in 4 days.
Yes my nose is raw. I had to call my doctor yesterday and get an antibiotic called in for me. Everyone in my family got mild colds, I got the worst of it.
Now they are all at the parks while I am sitting in the room. I didn't really feel up to going to the parks this morning and thought that maybe if I let my body rest and let the antibiotic kick in then maybe I would feel up to it tomorrow. The medicine is working now and I am starting to see signs of improvement. Luckily for my poor nose.
All in all I enjoyed the cruise but it wasn't a very happy ending. We did encounter other people that had cold symptoms that developed onboard. When my family went to pick up my prescription last night the pharmacists said they get people coming in all the time sick after returning from cruises (usually with colds). I wash my hands repeatedly too (so much that I have been made fun of) so it wasn't that I was careless about what I was doing.
