Hi all- just a few comments about my 3 nights at the Hard Rock that I hope folks find helpful.

We had the Entertainment Rate and got Loew's benefits

The Sunset Grill did not offer a continental breakfast buffet, which I thought I had read here. Only the full 13.50 buffet, which wasn't terribly impressive, but you'd spend that anyway a la carte. The Starbucks has pastry, cereal, etc., I believe a donut was $1.50. Pastamore has better morning pastries and a scrambled egg plate for I believe 6.95 .

We didn't eat in the HRH any other time. Had a nice dinner at Pastamore and Hard Rock Cafe. Priority seating is great. Universal Express is even better.

We had a deluxe room, I believe 2120, a good 3 miles ;) from the elevator. Great for the 5 of us, housekeeping and everything was fine. We faced the pool, no noise problem.

Staff was very nice, a little 'tude here and there

Saturday night we were getting ice cream at Emack and Bolio's and saw Scooby Doo making the rounds in the half empty Sunset Grill.

Any questions, I'll be glad to try and answer.

Thanks for the post!
Would love to hear more about the room, I have't come across any picture or details of what a deluxe pool view room is....are there views of the parks? Were you able to upgrade with the Loews benefits, if you wanted?
Thanks for the headsup on the breakfast offerings!

Did you have to remind them about getting your Loews benefit while using Entertainment rate? Was there a separate check in line for Loews members?

The deluxe room was huge, plenty of room even with 2 Queens and the sofa bed pulled out. I was on the second floor, so I don't know if the higher floors would see the parks. I was facing the pool and from the direction I was facing, if was higher, it would be n the direction of the parks. That said, I don't know if being on the 6th floor for example would be sufficiently high.

When you walk in the room, there is an alcove on the right with a closet and room for luggage to store. It was great to have that stuff out of the way. There are 2 sinks, one in the bathroom proper. Good sized bathroom overall. As you continue past the alcove into the room proper, the sofa is on your immediate right, head of the beds on the left hand wall, tv along the right wall and a small table and chairs by the windows that faced out to the pool area.

I just handed my Entertainment Card and Loews card at check in. Wasn't asked about an upgrade and didn't seek one, having the Deluxe room. There was not a separate Loews check in.

The shuttle boat to the parks and CityWalk were nice if you were tired of walking, but really a short walk to any of those destinations. We also took the shuttle over to SeaWorld, runs a few times in the morning and a few times back in the afternoon. Probably would have been about a $10 cab ride as an alternative.

2 weeks ago we stayed at the Hard Rock in room 5120 (5th floor pool view) and from there you could see the tops of hulk, Dr Doom and dueling dragon, thats about it. They were far off enough you couldnt see much detail.

We booked the entertainment rate, but didnt have a Lowes card, we got a bottle of wine waiting in our room when we got back the second night anyway!

Using the room keys for FOTL was great! Reg Universal Express passes were gone for a lot of rides by 2-3 pm, but we still had access with room keys!!!

What type of room did you originally booked using the entertainment rate? Did you have a standard or pool view? Did you book a Deluxe room or is that what they upgraded you to? What was the entertainment rate you were originally quoted and is that what that final room rate charged was?

Sorry to ask so many questions. We're going in July (5 of us) and booked a standard room at the entertainment rate of $125 per night. I also have a Loews card. Would love to get an upgrade, but I'm not sure how to get one. Thanks.

What days were you there? I wonder if they only have the continental breakfast buffet on the weekend?

Thanks,
REnee

I was there on a Thurs-Sun. For the weekend, I did see flyers for some Rock n Roll Breakfast buffet which was a buck or so more. We only had the buffet on Fri morning, then decided to seek other options.

We are staying at HRH for our first visit to US/IOA in May after an 8 night stay at Disney All Star..I know HRH is much more upscale than the All Star so am wondering how tacky it would be if we brought a cooler in with us. Just trying to save some $$ and we are not a big breakfast family anyway (looks like we would save $30 or so a day by not eating breakfast at the hotel restaurants!)..apples or a bowl of cereal are all we usually do.

Very tacky. Just kidding! We're bringing our plug in cooler, but a regular cooler that you refill with ice is fine, too. I have no idea how easy it is to get enough ice to keep a cooler stocked, however. We might go out a time or two for breakfast, but will usually eat cereal, fruit, breakfast bars, etc in the room before heading to the parks. We might bring some oranges and apples into the parks with us for when the mid-morning munchies hit. I'm bringing PB&J and when I'm tired I'm more than happy to make a meal out of a sandwich, especially when I'm tired and hungry. We're buying perishables after we get to Orlando, including cheese, milk, and fruit so we should be set.
