Got to Port early thurs, we were in group 3 to board. Once we boarded straight to beach blanket buffett, ( most were heading to Parrott Cay) . We ate and headed to the pools, we were the only ones there for an hour or so!

Had hot tubs to ourselves as well, at 1:30 our rooms were ready so we headed for a quick rest then off to the lifeboat drill.

The weather was great for Jan. pretty windy with 8ft seas the 1st night but dd9 and dd5 were out like lights.

Spent Friday @ Nassau which was ok, we have been there before so we kinda wish we would have stayed on the ship but..

Friday night was Pirate Night, really cool, the kids were dancing with Cm Pirate Leslie the whole time, (she was great with them)..the next day she sent some best dancer certificates as well as some pirate toys to our room for the girls...what a suprise!!

Sat @ castaway cay was fantastic, 82 deg less wind, and again we were one of the first familys there...had the whole beach to ourselves for a while.

Sat. night we watched our eagles loose on the Jumbo screen on dk9, then off to bed.

Got home last night to Phila. to cold rain and fog........great huh...

Oh well we are hoping to get back for our 3rd disney cruise soon, this time a 7 day hopefully, so we can get some serious relaxation time on board.

Glad to hear you had a great trip. We sailed on the trip right before you and had great weather, too. Aren't the CM's just great???!! They really go out of their way to make the trip magical!:)

this being our 2nd DC, and abt 20 trips to WDW, we always are pleased with the extra attention the CM's give kids, the Pirate Party was great because it wasn't real crowded and our kids danced the night away.

Funny thing was the next night CM leslie was outside the theater and our girls recognized her w/o the costume and got big hugs!!

We'll be on the 3 day in less than 2 weeks!:cool1: Glad to hear you had a good time! I have a few questions...Did you go to the CC Reception? If so when was it held? How cold was the water? Were you able to swim? Do you recall if Ian and Brian from the entertainment staff are still on board? My girls loved them last year. All the CM's are great IMO!

we didn't go to the cc reception, I believe Ian was on board but not sure about Brian, the water @ cc was chilly esp in the morning, but we were all in by afternoon, (you got use to it quick, and the sun was hot)

The wind was a big factor for keeping it cool, but @ castaway cay it was very nice...

biggest tip: (which I got on this board) pack a swimsuit in your carry on, get to port as early as poss. (we were there around 1000) after boarding don't go to Parrot cay for lunch, go straight to beach blanket buffet, then to the pools, we had eaten, relaxed in the pools/hot tubs and were resting in our room and they were still welcoming people on board.

Hi all! My family and I have never been on a cruise before. The D/C came highly recommended by a Co-worker. We are sailing on the 4 night Wonder on 2/11/07. Any and all tips/reccomendations would be greatly appreciated! We are coming in the day b4 and taking the cruiseline transportation. After reading some posts regarding getting there early, can anyone tell me appx. what time the bus'es arrive? Thank You:)

That was my first Disney Cruise, too. We loved it! Yes Castaway Cove was cold getting in...swim like crazy for a few minuites and you'll warm up.

I really like "Diversions". I wish I could pick it up off the ship and plop it down for our neighborhood pub...and I don't even drink! I want to go back!

Leslie wasn't the girl with long black hair, by chance? There was a really cool pirate "captain" in Wave Bands, leading the trivia game, but I didn't catch her name. She had a cute assistant, too

I don't think she had black hair? We talked with her a few minutes outside "disney dreams" show the last night of the cruise..

Glad to hear that you had good weather - January can be so "iffy". The toys and certificates for your girls was such a nice Disney touch - that's what keeps us all going back! Did you notice the RCl and Carnival ships all lined up nearby for the Pirate Party fireworks? We were on the Magic
12/26 and a CM pointed out to us how they all line up so that their passengers can watch the fireworks. Great advertising for DCL !

I agree with the weather, this was kind of a spur of the moment decision trip as my wife got a great discount thru her airline employee discount offer.

Didn't see the other ships when the fireworks went of, we were port side and they went off starboard.

Another nice thing was we booked 2 rooms one for us and one for my parents, they also got the castaway club bag of goodies when we embarked.

Gotta do a 7 day next to get some extra r&r

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!
We still get goodies???!!!:dancer:

When we sailed for the 2nd time, we got a really nice beach towel.

I love presents!!!! :dance3:
