Just back from OKW June 1and 2. MK was horribly packed right from the get go Monday. Epcot, fairly quiet, AK mobbed first thing at the opening bell Sunday. It's getting to the point where it's not even worth attempting the MK when Tomorrow land transit authority has a line!. If that's busy, everything else is immpossible unless you enjoy staanding on line for 45 minutes to an hour in the heat to go on a ride. :(

I have a question for you. When I was in Florida, I met some people from Florida at Universal. We got to talking at "Slime Time Live"at Nik. This was in 2000. We were there the Sunday after Memorial Day at the Magic Kingdom and it was also very crowded that day. I asked her why, (I thought the crowds would be smaller after a Holiday).

Why would a Florida resident want to go when they know it is so hot or do you live a couple of hours away and this time worked out for you better?

She told me they visit the parks usually in October, or when she knows it will be slower. But she felt a lot of Florida parents reward their kids if they get decent report cards, thus that first weekend after Memorial Day (Reward Day). It is starting to sound like Sundays at the Magic Kingdom are always very busy days.

Yes, a line at the TTA definitely means to beat it out of the MK, if you can fight the hordes on Main St, that is.

You just have to look at it as a positive thing, if there are crowds that means people are coming back

As a Florida resident and DVC member who was just in the world June 1-4, let me explain why we would go in June. We do take other vacations thru the year at less crowded times, but my daughter usually has to miss school to do it. Also we are seasonal passholders, which many FR are, and this year our passes block out after June 7. So this early June trip my daughter was already done with school, and our passes were still effective. WE planned our days in a way that we were able to handle the crowds very effectively...ie. early mornings spent in theme parks, and afternoons spent poolside...then always, ps for dinner in a nice relaxing place is a must. Dh said this trip was our best ever!

;) Yes, we live about an hour and a half away, and we have florida residence seasonal passes, and the blackout dates are usually the second week of June through around the second week of august. We are also DVC members, so we can go just for a couple of days at a time. We have been in Florida for about 7 years now and are pretty much used to the heat, although we don't particular like to stand on a line for an hour in the heat. But there are plenty of other options at WDW. i guess my point was just to let folks know what things are like different times of the year in case they were planning a trip at that particular time. Also, if I'm not mistaken, early opening was not always at the MK on Sunday like it is now, and there was a time when Sunday morning crowds were pretty much non existent there.
