Hi all!
Came back from our child-free weekend in the early hours of this morning - totally shattered! Won't do a trip report as I never finished the Oct one as it was! Oops.
Trying Sequoia Lodge was nice. Breakfasts were much more organised than Cheyenne! We paid for a Montana room (but not the extra for a lake view) and ended up in a large room with a side balcony overlooking the lake & village, could also see the castle lit up at night - is that standard or did we get an upgrade? (Poor photos - from phone)
The fire alarm going off Sat night was a pain and very badly managed by staff. Plus we went two days without a bathroom light despite asking for it to be sorted. Showering in the dark was a new experience! lol
Had my first go on Crushes Coaster & Rock n Roller Coaster which were both ace. Would have done CC a second time but the queue was up to 2 hours most of the time. Went back on ToT which is one of our fave rides. Also watched Cinemagique & Moteurs shows which we'd never done before.
Luckily we did lots of rides on the Friday because the weekend was horrific. The crowds were just too much when we're used to nice quiet October midweeks. People were just getting irritable and rude which detracted from the magic. I was glad we didn't have the girls there. We did Big Thunder Mountain twice at night, it's really fun in the dark!
Saw a few characters and got a kiss from Mickey & a hug from Chip
Def will stick to Halloween in the future. Although the xmas decorations were pretty we felt they seem to make more effort with Halloween! It's also more fun and perky. The carols playing on Main Street were too dreary for us. A controversial choice I'm sure but we won't be hurrying back for a Christmas Disney. Our place is with the Pumpkinmen and Disney Villians
