Mebbe it is just you. Maybe we need a "no spoilers/no rumors" thread next time, so that we're not bogged down by semantics.
Until we actually see it, nothing RUMORED is factual, nor are the spoilers. But it could very likely BE factual. And the rumors are coming from somewhere, whether or not we state the fairly reliable source it came from or not. "Rumor has it it's Vienna" is no better than "Reality Steve says it's Vienna." If someone who KNOWS THE SPOILER wants to put it out there that they're SO incredibly perceptive, then say "I think it's Vienna because he really seems to like her, they edited it to make us think he's more like Tenley" or whatever.
All we're asking is that people respect that. I don't see why it needs to be a big deal to just keep it off this thread.
...I so get what you are saying - I also totally agree with the fact that this thread is supposed to be a 'No Spoiler' thread. However, looking back at whomever posted 'rumors' or 'addendums to rumors' or 'comments made in response to those rumors', I just read each one at face value and moved on. I certainly didn't say to myself, "OMG, now so-and-so totally spoiled tonight's show for me!! I'm not goine to watch because I already KNOW what's gonna happen...yada, yada, yada...!!" Will it stop m from watching the final episode. Of course not! Will it stop most of the 'regulars' here from watching....doubt it. I still don't get why folks are gettin' so bent outta shape about it....honestly, I have formed my own opinion regarding the show's finale REGARDLESS of what may or may not have been sted here during the past months. Could Jake possibly [*gulp*] pick Vienna tonight. ABSOLUTELY! However, someone stating that a 'rumor' has been floating around that he picks her has a 50/50 chance of it being correct. Suppose he doesn't. Would you be saying that the OP 'had everybody totally fooled'?? As far as from where rumors are generated - well, someone could be throwing a monkey wrench into the works to 'stir the pot' a bit, for a little controversy. And it's NOT 'semantics' - unless someone DELIBERATELY (and I honestly don't think that it was the intention of the OP) wrote something like "THIS is gonna happen" or "So-and-so leaves the house in the middle of an arugment" or "Jake calls Ali and asks her to marry him" or something to THAT effect, everything is just speculation and shouldn't be read as 'gospel truth'. Of course, you'd have to take that up with the OP....
