Babywearing on rides?

We've been to Disney with our children several times, but this is the first time we are going with just DH, 3 kids and I. Normally, we travel in a group of 10 or 12 which includes grandparents and lots of other helping hands. I plan on wearing DS (4 months) in a mei tei carrier for most of the time and DH likes carrying DS in the mei tei or baby bjorn.

I know there are lots of rides without height restrictions, but what about lapbars that might get in the way? Which rides can we go on while still wearing the baby? Anyone have experience with babywearing on rides?

Our little one was 4 months for his 1st trip and I wore him on the rides....the lap bars never got in the way. It worked out quite nice....especially when I figured out how to nurse in it too, lol. Have fun!

I wore my youngest for two trips the first she was 6 weeks the second just over 1yr. I was able to wear her in a sling on every ride without a height restriction. You will have a great trip!

I wore my DD (7.5 months) in a Boba 3G for most of our trip last November. I took her out for a lot of the rides, but she rode Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets and Living with the Land in the carrier.

The only ride that may be a problem is the carousel because the kids are supposed to wear seat belts on the horses. We didn't try to ride it with my daughter in the carrier, so it is only a guess.

We went in November when my son was 9 weeks old. He loved the carrier that trip! He stayed in it for almost every ride! If the ride had a lap bar, I would either put my hand between the carrier and the bar when the bar came down so it wouldn't squish him or I would lift the entire carrier up a little until the bar came down and then I would kind of set the carrier back down on top of the bar. The only ride where we had trouble was Dumbo. The CM insisted we take him out and hold him between us. It made no sense to me because he seemed a lot more secure in the carrier, but it worked out okay anyway!

This is encouraging to hear that you didn't have to remove the baby. I took my DS to Disneyland in 2007 when he was barely 1. I had him in an Ergo, and a CM instructed me to take him out and hold him on a lot of rides. POTC was one where I was instructed to take him out (there was no lap bar, seems like he was safer attached to me).

Following.
Will be wearing 2yo this trip but obviously not on rides.
Next trip we will have a much smaller one to wear, hopefully!

Following also. 2 years ago I wore an 11 month old the entire trip. I remember the cm at Peter Pan asking me to remove her though. This fall I am going with my 9 month old and plan to baby wear.

I wore ODD in my Ergo when she was about 11 months old.
I never got asked to take her out--even on TSM.

We are going in Sept and YDD will be about 9 months old. So we will be using the Ergo a lot again.

Thank you so much for your replies everyone! Glad to hear so many have had positive babywearing experiences on rides.

Wore my 3mo in a beco on almost every ride that didn't have a height requirement. No one blinked an eye and he slept almost all day at the parks!

Peter Pan can be an issue with a front carrier; as the bar does kind of hit in the wrong spot. When DD was tiny I rode it with her in a sling, and I remember having to shift her to my side a bit so that the bar would set correctly. I think it would depend on your size; if you are thin you probably wouldn't have to deal with that.

I wore DD in an Ergo at 18m and was never told to take her out of the carrier for any ride or show. I often did so that she could get the full effect of the ride/show. DH and I put her between us and she would sit just fine.
