We are going to be staying at Coronado Springs and AKL in November. Have any of you used the in-room babysitting at either of these places?? I also read somewhere that there are places you can drop your kids off (our daughter will be 16 months old when we go) - does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

will only accept children 4 and older, so you'll have to use an in-room service.

Here's some info for you...HTH!!

Childcare at WDW

Have fun planning!

Thanks for your reply! Has anyone ever used the Fairy Godmother babysitting or Disney's babysitters? Would you recommend them? Any specific babysitters that come highly recommended?

We use the Fairy Godmothers everytime we go! We got the same lady this past year that we did the year before so the kids were even more relaxed. They are "grandmotherly" women who bring movies and games/crafts for your children. They are kind of expensive but DH and I really need ONE night to ourselves on our two week vacation so it is worth it for us! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

Enjoy!

Would yo mind telling me who the lady was that babysat for you and how much they charged? Thanks!

Would anyone else care to weigh in on either of these services? Or give recomendations on a specific sitter to request? DD is almost old enough for Kids club, but not quite. :( DH is very nervous about having a stranger watch DD, but I would really like a night (or at least a dinner) on our own during our week at WL. Help!

I am interested in the cost for Fairy Godmothers.

Anyone out there with info on the Fairy Godmothers - how they compare with the Disney in-room babysitting??? Please help us!! I'm trying to avoid an expensive long distance call......

We used Kid's Nite Out for our 17 mo old. I'm pretty sure her name was Eva Velasquez. She was an older woman. Came in and sat with us to review DS's schedule and anything else we had to tell her. She brought a bag full of appropriate toys and pulled out his favorite-a ball. She spent some time letting him warm up to her and we went over where were going. We said our good-bye's and she was great about distracting him and getting him to turn his back to us and then she motioned for us to go. We stood outside the door and listened and could just hear them talking and playing.

We used KNO based on that they were Disney's preferred group. Both Fairy Godmothers and KNO have criminal background checks but KNO employees have to go through Disney employee training classes as well. I think you'd be pleased w/ both by all the great reviews on this site. Also KNO has a website and FG's does not (which to me in this day and age is just weird)

KNO: kidsniteout.com
1 child-13.50/hr
2 - 15.50
3 - 17.50
4- 19.50
transportation fee- $8
Visa/mastercard, gratuity in cash
uses male and female so request female if that is your preference

FG:
1 to 4 - 12.00/hr
transporation fee $12
cash/travelers checks

this was from the Unofficial Guide 2004 so fees may have increased.

Thanks very much for your help! I also like that KNO have CPR/first aid training. Not sure about Fairy Godmothers. Anyone out there use Fairy Godmothers that could give us some input?? Thanks again

Both companies sitters are CPR certified, insured and bonded. All sitters are screened, referenced checked, and police checked. I think you're just paying for the Disney training basically. Both companies have recvd excellent reviews when we were researching this.
