Hi! We're going to make our voyage to WDW in September  , and I saw that the All Star Sports, where we're staying, has babysitting. I'm trying to find info and I'll I'm finding is info for bigger, potty trained kids. DD will be 14.5 months, and I think it's very very unlikely I'll have her PTed by then. Is there any info out there on babysitting for little ones? DH and I have a few rides in mind that we want to go on, but can't bring DD, such as Expedition Everest, Tower of Terror, etc.

Please help! I've never been to Disney with a kid before! :confused3

It does exist. It is just a little bit harder to find for younger children. Basically, what you have to do is book a "Kids Nite Out." It is for kids that are 6 months to 12 years. The babysitter comes to your room to watch after the child. All of the babysitters are over 18 years old and are CPR/First Aid Certified. It costs $14 per hour for 1 child. They are available 24/7. You just need to give them a call. They answer the phone from 8am-9pm daily. Their phone number is (407) 828-0920. Hope this helps! :)

You can do those rides with Rider Switch or FP during the day and just ride alone....I know it's not as fun, but if you've ridden before it's not that big a deal. I understand wanting an adult night out, though. But you can do those rides with your little one with you.

I think we're going to do a lot of Rider Switching. I think the Nite Out thing sounds pretty good too... it's going to be so hard to leave her!

What are rides/ attractions that I can take her on? She's pretty gutsy, takes a lot to scare this kid! (within limits, i know there are many things she just isnt allowed on)

Ours went on just about everything without height restrictions, including the Teacups. We went on Pirates, Small World, Safari, Pooh. Next time she'll be 22 mo old and we plan to also go on Buzz and the new Toy Story ride. Ours too is fearless, so far.

It's so much fun. We talked about doing the babysitter thing, but the trip was for DH and he decided he didn't NOT want to be with DD (and we have taken a couple trips without her--we're not afraid to "dump her off"). However, she gets dumped with grandparents. It's harder for DH than with me, but I'm probably too trusting of people.

Whatever you decide have fun and stick with your decision. Everything will be fine!

I had no idea so many rides had NO height restrictions! COOL! She's a little thrill-seeker, she LOVES the swings at the playground, she squeals if you push her higher, it's adorable.

We're also a bit weary of "dumping her off," I feel guilty asking my mom or MIL to watch her so I can run to the store! I think we may possibly spring for a sitter for a little bit for a dinner, but I'm not sure. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. DD did stay with my mom overnight and she did just fine. My poor mom was worn out, though! (I was told that it would get harder once she was mobile- that was no joke!)

We plan to leave the kids 2.5 and 10 months with Kids night out while the adults, hubby and I and his parents have a night out at California Grill. it will be the first time I have ever left them with someone I don't know and probably the first time I will have left Seth with anyone other than his Dad. I just feel this is my trip to and I would like a nice adult dinner without having to deal with the kids. And it is only one night not likely to scar them for life is it? ;)

We took Cullen to Disneyland when he was 10 months he went on everything that didn't have a height restriction and never cried once. He is still pretty fearless so hopefully that continues and his wee brother isn't a wee scaredy cat, although with 4 adults most of the time we can at least split up and do rider swap etc.

Our DD used/uses a pacifier. I took it with me on all the rides just in case. We barely used it. I'm not going to break her of it (really only uses it for sleeping now) until after our trip. Just in case the plane ride is hard and it really helps for meltdowns which are far more frequent now than any time she was under 12 mo old. I guess I'm finally getting my due.

Definitely try the teacups and Dumbo-type rides. There is one at AK that allows you to control up and down. I don't know if Dumbo does that.

Off-Topic: Our 7 year old niece has supposedly never sat through the whole Bruce scene in Finding Nemo. We turned it on last night and our DD watched the whole scene. She had a concerned look, she knew it was an action scene, but she wasn't scared. We hope to tell her (and her cousin) that she was fine when she was 1 1/2, so she can't be scared later. ;)
