The kids clubs at Disney starts at the age of 4. Ds will be 3 yrs 5 mos at the time of travel is too young for the kids club. I called disney and spoke with a cm who told me that I could lie and say he's 4 yrs old. I don't feel comfortable at all about lying so that leaves that out. We also have a dd who will be 6 yrs old. Then I called kids night out to inquire what their fees are. It's a 4 hour minium, $16.50 an hour for 2 kids. I don't want the babysitter alone in the room with the kids. I guess we are over protective and really don't trust anyone with our kids. However, we are in need of some time alone, just for a few hours. We don't go out much as a couple when we are home , never had a trust worthy babysitter. Anyway i thought the babysitter could stay at the resort with the kids but after hearing 4 hour minium I think that would be too long for them to stay with a stranger. We are only going to be at the resort for a day, plan on doing some swimming and relaxing. The rest of the time we will be at the parks. This is a real bummer. I was hoping for a few hours in the hot tub sipping a nice cold drink and spending time with my dh. Does anyone have any advice?

I've used Kids night out with great success. I actually have them scheduled next week to come for a few nights. I usually get my girls in be early around 7pm, this way when she comes around 8:30, they are already asleep. We usually go out for a drink, or a dip in the pool, or hit a club at PI. Whatever you do, you have to feel comfortable or you won't have a good time. I trust them, and so far so good.

We used a similar service at disneyland, and it couldnt have turned out better. The sitter that arrived was a "grandmotherly type" she was actually an active RN and I was able to pull her licence up on the CA state board using her name. The kids had a blast, it was calm and relaxing. By that point in our vacation we really needed some "us" time.

BUT if you aren't comfortable then you aren't comfortable. You need to be 100% with whatever decision you make or you wont have a good time like the previous poster stated.

I would wait till next trip when you could send your children to the child care center together.

If you have a balcony, perhaps you and DH could spend a little time sitting our there after the children are asleep and enjoy a drink together. As you asked, this is what I would do as i am not confortable with sitters in the room , the decission is yours to make.

I think you are right. The best thing to do is to wait until next trip. I will not enjoy myself when we are out because I will be thinking about what's going on in the room. We do have a balcony and I guess we will be having our alone time out there.

Thanks everyone!

I have never used the sitter service but i have heard WONDERFUL THINGS about the private sitter services at WDW. So much so that we plan on using one in Oct when we go and I am a FREAK about who watches my child lol. I dont let my best friend watch my child :rotfl:

Stay tuned on the boards and I bet you will hear some great things that maybe will make you more comfortable. I know it worked for me.
