We are taking our first trip as a family in April. I have gone to WDW many times as kid and young adult but my husband has never gone. We have 4 childeren age 11mth to 8 yrs, I read that there is a service that provides babysitting, while I would love a little time with my husband one evening I am really scared at the thought of leaving kids with complete stranger. Have any of you used such a service? Opinions?
Thanks

We went in early December and used Fairy Godmothers. Lynn came to watch my 4yr old and 18 month old for us. She was great, and the kids both loved her. My dd 4 kept asking if Lynn was going to come back and play with her and her baby brother! Even now that we have been home for over a month my dd stills ask for her to come and play.

We didn't have any problems with inroom child care. Dh and I also had a blast, we hit three parks and rode all the adult rides while the kids were with they godmother :D

Do Fairy Godmothers have a website ? Are they through Disney or an outside service ? What were their fees ? What did they do to entertain your child in the room ? We will be there in May with my 8mo and 7yo and would be intrested in learning more about this ...

We used Kids Nite Out (www.kidsniteout.com). They are the Disney 'preferred' service. I think you will be pleased w/ either compnay. Both have been around for a long time and the only 2 services I've seen mentioned. They do background checks, finger printing etc. We had Eva Velasquez (I think was her name). She came a few minutes early and discussed his schedule, had a bag full of age appropriate toys and helped distract him as we left.

He never went to bed before 11pm with us in our bed but we came in at 11pm and he was sound asleep on a pallet she made on the floor and said he was out by 8:30. She was curled up on the couch reading a book in low light.

In fact I need to make our ressie with them for 2 nights on our upcoming trip.

I don't think Fairy Godmothers has a website..which I think is weird in the age.

Fairy Godmothers is more of a family run company, hence the lack of computers. They've also downsized in recent years, because the woman who runs it is getting older (I think it's been around for like 25 years or so....)

That being said, we've used FG half a dozen times and just love the sitters there. They ask the ages of your kids, and the sitters bring toys to keep them busy.
